Gosh, shares temporarily suspended pending an announcement! I'm on tenterhooks!
Nigel Martin

CamaraSA, if you hold, you will get 32p per share, and unless there is an unforeseen holdup, you should get it by May 6.

I still own a few shares. Should I sell now or hold on. What's the count down for Togglebrush? - until there can be no more counter bids or until the takover officialy happens. What happens to those that still hold EID shares when the takeover happens, do they get the equivalent in the take over company?

More evidence of the confidence Eidos have in Batman:

Looks like a June release is still on the cards. Perhaps Square are keen to start recouping their investment, because I think a Sept launch makes more sense. It would allow a couple of more months for QA and slip the game past the quiet summer period. Still, if it is half as good as it looks, this is likely to sell 2M+ whenever it comes out.

I have already invested, in advance, some of the receipts I'll get from Eidos into Square (through a Charles Schwab US trading account). With excellent previews for all the upcoming titles from Eidos, I believe this will result in a very profitable 12 months for the firm, which will feed straight into Square's bottom line (and SP).

Good luck to anyone who follows my path into Square, or whatever share you decide to re-invest your Eidos money into.

That really would be the icing on the cake wouldn't it. I can see it now.....Eidos under Squex leadership becomes the greatest....no I can't even go there, it's too upsetting. Good luck everyone. Like we say, it's not over til it's over but it's a damn shame they never quite lived up to our expectations.

I wonder how galling it is for Eidos shareholders that really positive previews are just surfacing for JC2, BM2 and Batman.

I know somebody on here (loc?) was in favour of Eidos staying independent and, if so, this will be gris to his particular mill.

Personally I think they got a very good price for it given the state that they'd got it into but these previews surfacing just after the vote are a bit galling.

What? You want a taste? Okay...

"And with that stunning finish, my time with Just Cause 2 came to an all-too-quick end. I couldn't quite believe what I'd witnessed - it's all so impressive. This is a massive leap forward from Just Cause, and it makes the first game look like a prototype in desperate need of new ideas and advanced technology."

"It's exciting, it's exhilarating, and what it lacks in gravity-defying acrobatics it more than makes up for in pure blunt force trauma. From what we've played so far, Batman's hand-to-hand could be satisfying enough to carry a whole game in itself. The single combat arena we were demoed was addictive enough that we developed an almost medical need to replay it over and over to perfect our combo ratings, resetting at the first error as if we were trying to ace an SSX stunt run. We've had terrible thumb-twitching withdrawal for it ever since."

Some folks still gambling a few quid on it with the buys at 32p. Some of 100k last week. Big article in this weekends FT re the last London listed games company. They suggested ""The vote appears to dash any remaining hopes of a rival bid from Time Warner, a 20 per cent shareholder in Eidos. "" Though you never know with Eidos. I think it was official last time when SCI snuck in "after" the bell.

Agreed. Done deal. I think they will thrive under Square's ownership, without the tightrope existence everytime a major title comes out. Shame it has come to that, but I'm glad to see the back of this stock.

I think Square will be a good investment after the takeover. Perhaps a Square thread is worth starting up on this BB if enough shareholders invest in them?

Yup, it *almost* felt like somebody heard something. Or thought they'd heard something.

But I think just about everybody else assumes this has been put to bed. Me included.

I suppose at 32p, they are only gambling the fees/stamp/cfd interest.

Seems strange that they all appeared so suddenly though.
