25/3/2016 08:56 | Thanks for that interesting link haydock. I think that Cuadrilla have already drilled one of the Kimmeridge limestone horizons at Balcombe but seemingly it has not yet been flow tested. Surely they must already have a good idea if it can replicate Horse Hill? Cuadrilla's statement said: "In 2013, Cuadrilla drilled a conventional exploration well at the Lower Stumble site, drilling horizontally for some 1,700 feet through the Micrite formation (a type of limestone) at a depth of approximately 2,350 feet below ground level. The company was expecting to and did indeed find oil in the Micrite. However, without flow testing Cuadrilla cannot be sure at what rate the oil may flow to the surface." | rogerlin
24/3/2016 19:16 | I must admit to being even more puzzled by this stock & the mkt. I cannot for the life of me see why the mkt does not get any enthusiasm for the Weald licences, held by I-gas & also Egdon They have for the Gatwick gusher, which may now be the real deal. hxxp://www.nohotair. Increased production volume, would require oil to be piped out rather than trucked, which could be easily achieved via an underground link to Esso’s existing Gatwick to Purfleet pipeline. Both production from this one site and the construction of an underground pipeline link would minimise the environmental footprint. An operation of this scale with production from the Kimmeridge section could lead to the oil majors running their slide rulers over the licences. Once more just to convince myself I am not seeing things that the mkt cannot : An operation of this scale with production from the Kimmeridge section could lead to the oil majors running their slide rulers over the licences. Where on earth is all the action ? | haydock
16/3/2016 08:18 | IGAS's RNS today has lots of encouraging stuff to read, particularly about progress at Springs Road ... | taudelta1
15/3/2016 09:17 | rogerlin agreed .. didn't help that yesterday wasn't the best day for POO and a lot of other stocks were moving in the same direction ... GLA | taudelta1
15/3/2016 08:24 | Not quite the desired result but then Laughton was not the most enormous target. | rogerlin
09/3/2016 14:10 | "We are pleased to report the start of drilling at Laughton-1 and we look forward to updating shareholders with the preliminary results from the well in around one month's time". As that was 15th February we are looking at the Ides of March. | rogerlin
08/3/2016 08:43 | Have taken another 50,000 this morning. | dan de lion
07/3/2016 19:10 | Some nice cartoons in here of prospects held in common with EDR. | rogerlin
07/3/2016 15:09 | With the results of the Laughton well due in next week have taken 50,000 @ 8.3p in the hope it comes good. As the share price came down with the oil price perhaps it will respond as it moves up! | dan de lion
01/3/2016 08:51 | Under the terms of the agreement, UKOG will pay a 40% share of the Holmwood-1 drilling costs in order to acquire a 20% working interest in PEDL143 from Egdon. UKOG's share of well costs will be capped at GBP1.2 million net to UKOG (i.e. 40% of a gross Holmwood-1 well cost estimate of GBP3 million). Gross well costs above GBP3 million, should they arise, will be met according to the working interests in PEDL143. Egdon's interest in the licence on completion will be 18.4% More good news from UKOG at Horse Hill this morning. Although EDR reduced their interest in Holmwood, they would seem to be largely carried on the drill cost. | rogerlin
29/2/2016 11:08 | The March oil stock challenge is on! Deadline for entries is midnight tonight. Good luck!!! fb | flyingbull
26/2/2016 08:36 | "In order to exploit the knowledge gained and commercial advantage from HH-1, UKOG farmed in to the highly promising Holmwood licence, immediately to the west of Horse Hill, for an initial 20% interest, increasing this interest to 30% after the reporting period. This asset now forms a further key piece of UKOG's core Weald Kimmeridge and Portland growth strategy. The acreage contains a Horse Hill Portland look-alike prospect plus the continuation of the now proven Kimmeridge limestone oil play. We will use our key recent knowledge to maximise the benefit from the Holmwood-1 exploration well which is planned to be drilled in late 2016 or early 2017". From UKOG's results today. | rogerlin
25/2/2016 11:14 | Cuadrilla has won its appeal against a council decision to reject plans for a monitoring site in Lancashire. The Company has been given permission by the Planning Inspectorate to restore the Grange Hill shale exploration site near Singleton. (reported by energy-pedia). | taudelta1
17/2/2016 16:11 | More excitement at Horse Hill. EDR still have 18.4% of the adjacent Holmwood prospect in PEDL 143. | rogerlin
16/2/2016 08:52 | Another checking in here. Laughton will be useful if a success ... but the big one this year is Biscathorpe (gcos .4) .. I'm referring to internal developments ... but I think a potential external development could be very significant, i.e. the overturn of the Lancashire decision against Cuadrilla ... 15/2/2016 12:40 | Egdon Resources plc (AIM: EDR) is pleased to announce the commencement of drilling operations at the Laughton-1 exploration well in UK Onshore Licence PEDL209 located in Lincolnshire. The Laughton-1 well was spudded 12 February. The well will target a structural trap at a depth of over 1,500 metres defined on reprocessed two-dimensional seismic data. The Laughton Prospect has multiple conventional Carboniferous sandstone reservoir targets with the primary objective being the Silkstone Rock, an approximately 15 metre thick sandstone interval which is productive in the analogous Corringham Oil Field located five kilometres to the south-east. Two other potential reservoirs, the Kilburn Sandstone and the Wingfield Flags, will also be targeted by the well. The consolidated mean Prospective Resource volume for the three targets, is estimated by Egdon to be 1.3 million barrels of oil. For clarity, the operations at the Laughton wellsite will not, either now or in the future, involve the process of High Volume Hydraulic Fracturing for shale gas anyone still interested in this ? | currypasty
26/1/2016 08:51 | Pictures of the Silkstone rock (the target in Loughton-1). It seems to sit on top of a coal seam. | rogerlin
06/1/2016 12:11 | Suggests there is no imminent price significant news I suppose but we should get a spud announcement for Laughton 1 some time soon. | rogerlin

04/1/2016 19:28 | Perhaps just related to the recent takeover of Alkane? | rogerlin
04/1/2016 14:20 | This could be regarded bullish considering Alkane's 18% holding. | dukedosh |
