FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 28 August 2008

eg solutions plc

PERIOD END TRADING UPDATE

eg solutions plc ("eg solutions" or "the Company"; LSE-AIM: EGS), the business software application vendor, is pleased to issue an update on trading for the six months ended 31 July 2008.

In an update statement issued at our Annual General Meeting on 17 June 2008, we reported that trading in the current financial year had been positive. This trend continued for the remainder of the period.

Our interim results are expected to show growth in revenue in line with market
expectations to approximately £2.3 million (H1 2007: £2.07 million), with the cost savings implemented throughout 2007 resulting in improved profitability.

The Company has made solid progress in achieving the turnaround promised to Shareholders. We remain committed to this strategy for the second half of the current financial year and beyond.

eg solutions is also pleased to announce that another Proof of Concept project has been signed since the period-end with a major short-term assurer in South Africa where there is the potential for up to 1,000 users of the Company's software. This contract win demonstrates continued expansion within the territory.

Announcement of results for the 6 months ended 31 July 2008

The results for the 6 months ended 31 July 2008 are expected to be announced on Wednesday 24 September 2008.

Well said Finmac !!

While recently doodling on t'interweb (as we say up north) on some unexplained whim I googled Energis (having long ago accepted that I had been robbed of my investment in that company --- and as they say 'moved on' --- subsequently I have taken no interest in Energis for 3 years or more; in fact ever since they took the large sign down off the building in Leeds center which used to rub salt every time a drove past the thing on my way into Leeds).

However to the business in hand. I did note from at least 2 written articles that apparently three years ago when Cable and Wireless bought 'new' Energis in 2005 (and all the banks and other didlers got THEIR money back) -- for some reason which the writers could not explain --- C&W structured the deal in such away that FORMER Energis shareholdes might potentially get something -- all be it small.

My understanding is that three years down the line ie around August / Septenber 2008 -- Like Now !! that for every 1p the C&W share price is above 135p (the price at the 2005 C&W AGM apparently) former Energis shareholders would receive £1.25m up to a ceiling of £80m

The last time I looked C&W was around 167p which gives a rise of 32p which equates to £40m in the pot.

Can anyone confirm / comment on this ?? Captain Finmac perhaps ??

I cannot now recall the number of Energis shares that were issued -- my guess is about 1.6 billion -- so with a pot of £40m this would equate to 2.5p per share. Peanuts I know but we happen to have a lot of them (in 7 figures) so although we have been very seriously mugged, there would, if the above is correct, be, as they say, a pot of tea in it !!!

This a a genuine query and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

efendi

Its over Finmac.

Unfortunately Mas885's attempt at releasing a naked calendar didn't go well, with sales of 5*, so no more funds.

Annual General Meeting Statement

At the Annual General Meeting of IT Software and Services company eg solutions plc (AIM: egs) to be held today at 10.30am, the Company's Non-Executive Chairman, Rodney Baker-Bates, will read the following statement:

"In the Preliminary results statement of 26th March 2008, the Board provided a cautious future outlook to shareholders given the prevailing unpredictable market environment.

"It is therefore pleasing to report that trading in the current financial year has been positive. Sales of £2.2 million have already been closed for the first half period to 31st July 2008, which is in line with market expectations.

"At the same time, initiatives to ensure overheads remain under strict control will continue to be a key focus for the foreseeable future.

"Although UK market conditions remain challenging, we secured three new contract wins within the first trading month of the 2008 financial year. These agreements with Nationwide Building Society, Co-operative Financial Services and the Co-operative Travel Group continue to progress well and we remain firmly focused on securing other similar new business opportunities in the UK.

"Our overseas expansion also continues to progress well with South Africa proving to be a particularly worthwhile target market; both in terms of an investment and as focal point for on-going business development. In April 2008, we announced another new contract win in this country with a major life office - the fourth to be secured by the Company since the start of the current financial year.

"Finally, shareholders will be aware that Violetta Parylo was appointed Finance Director and Company Secretary of eg solutions from 19th May 2008. Violetta is a welcome addition to our Main Board and I look forward to working with her going forward."

Cyril, you bought about £500 worth including commission at 14.5p. Should you sell them you'll get about £360 after commission if they sell at the same price as yesterday's sale of 11.5p.

In order to recoup your current paper loss, the share will have to go to an offer of 11.5p * £520/£360 including commission = 16.6p. Look at the chart to see what has happened over time but as they say past performance is not necessarily a guide to future performance.

Now that takes you to a break-even point. You have to decide considering all the factors what the likelihood of its going to a profit point of your choice, in the time period you are prepared to hold. For example you might choose 25% in a year. You'd then be looking at the likelihood the offer price nearly doubles by next May. If it does and you sell you'll have made about £100 after selling commission.

You also have to consider what the likelihood is that it drops. You also have to consider the opportunity cost, that is, would it be better if you sell now at a loss and put your money into something that has a better chance of building up.

Additionally you'll need to look at the management and how it has run the company, how tightly the shares are held and how easy it is to buy and sell. You have bought into a share that has a wide margin. Have a look at who the major shareholders are in a company.

I've made no comment on the merit of the company, these principles apply to any company.
