Accordin to the newspaper, the potential value of the gas connection business, Gas Transportation Company, is believed to have attracted investors, including investment trust Ecofin Water & Power Opportunities, which recently raised its stake to 10 per cent. Ecofin invests in utility companies, mainly for their dividend yield, but it also has a successful history of taking stakes in businesses and encouraging corporate change and a return of value to shareholders. |
Posted at 24/9/2004 12:16 by praipus Sell these buy the ECWC capitals IMHO Currently the dividend is about 8-9% per annum assuming the trust winds up in March 2009 5 years of 8/9% = 40+ % profit. The capitals bought at todays prices circa 75p and assuming a wind up value based on recent RNS £1.61 Net Asset value would give a 100%+ return on ivestment. Without stamp duty or income tax or reinvestment costs, spread etc ECWC stong buy in IMHO |
