I like the look of this company and there is a lovely BOWL on the 5 year
chart suggesting a move back in to the 5p range.

Im not sure why the directors would sell a big wodge of theirs at 1.58p though?

Nigel Wray took a few more as well, taking their seats at the dinner table? Inching up though which is surprising, i thought speculation might have moved us along a little quicker. The end game approaches i feel.

Well, it seems the market appears to be buying into your theorising

Why would Henderson buy 15% of ECV here?

All shortly after the COO resigns just a month ago.

I think more RNS's before long - that size a stake going either means something happening or someone has plans imo.

These look like they have the potential to double in no time on corporate action imo.

AIM, illiquid and risky so can't hold too many as a percentage sadly. Still have to take care.

All imo/dyor etc

These are risky and I do get things wrong like anyone else sadly.

I bought these for a bid or corporate action that looked like it could multiply the current share price and that's the only reason really. Yesterday's news was what I've been waiting to see and further above I did say I thought things would happen before year end. Will be interesting to see.

AIM, high risk, illiquid but the D.Mail piece adds a bit of info there which looks good imo.

Don't hold more than you can afford to lose imo.

All imo/dyor etc

1.584p is well below the current price though. Suggests director selling rather than institutional buying.

Is this the start of bid action I've been waiting for?

Eco City Vehicles PLC
("ECV" or "the Group")
Acquisition of major interest by institutional investor
Director Dealing
Eco City Vehicles PLC, the co-developer and supplier of the London licensed Mercedes Vito taxi, is pleased to announce that a blue chip institutional investor has made a major investment in ECV with the acquisition of a 15.98 per cent holding.
The stake was acquired on 25 November at a price of 1.584p per share from Peter DaCosta, Keith Marder and Michael Troullis ("the vendors"). As a result of these transactions the combined shareholding of the vendors has reduced to 34.7 per cent from 50.7 per cent.
Mr DaCosta, a non-executive director of the Group, sold 25,000,000 shares, reducing his holding to 53,887,856 shares, representing 11.5 per cent of the current issued share capital of the Group.
Mr Marder and Mr Troullis also sold 25,000,000 shares each, reducing their holdings to 53,807,532 shares and 55,001,600 shares respectively, representing 11.5 per cent and 11.7 per cent, respectively, of the current issued share capital of the Group.
These transactions have been made in compliance with the orderly marketing obligations announced at the time of ECV's placing on 7 September 2012.

For the first time this year it does look like the Merc is selling significantly more than it did in the previous year for the same month. In fact they just sold more in the month of September than they had in total for May to August all added together ! It will be interesting to see if they can keep it going for the last three months of the year.

RNS : Mercedes have renewed existing stocking facilities of £5.75m. Usual practice in the Motor Trade for Stock Finance provider to review facilities annually, so it's their chance to reduce if there's any cause for concern. As it's been renewed this is a good show of faith IMO.

Thanks for posting figures, phowdo. I too have been disappointed with the sales figure as this represents a missed opportunity to take advantage of LTI's problems late last year/early this. As it is ECV will post another loss when the interims are announced, pending any news on success in diversifying into the light commercial vehicle market (though given the scarcity of news this is unlikely).

ECV's financial position would appear perilous and another placing will be needed at some stage, diluting holders further. Therefore, given this hasn't played out as I'd hoped I've sold my modest holding this week. Hopefully the Interims will give some cause for optimism though, so I'll watch from the sidelines.

Heard a new advertising campaign on LBC radio earlier this week. Interesting to see whether it will have any effect on sales. I no longer hold as like phowdo, I wasn't seeing the desired uptick in sales earlier in the year when Maganese Bronze had all their problems.
