22/2/2017 16:26 | You keep talking up the price QuePassa. And for the last time I have no idea who LargeChablis is. No doubt you'll be posting doom and gloom tomorrow about the high winds and the huge impact it will have on this sector. LOL. | tlobs2

22/2/2017 12:56 | alex1621 Well done | jonesy2222
22/2/2017 10:04 | QP ... I have no problem with someone expressing a view on the company or the industry, it takes buyers and sellers to make a market. I don't mind shorters, that's no problem either. But you made a very specific statement about EZJ exiting the ftse100 and institutional selling thereafter ... that does happen but does not in itself impact a share price over the medium term ... 120 days cited. If anything, it suggests a buying opportunity. | alex1621
22/2/2017 09:58 | QuePassa, are EasyJet growing their customer base month on month? Are they increasing capacity to cover their increasing number of passengers? Oh and are they profitable? I'd say that was three yes's :-) | tlobs2
22/2/2017 09:41 | Just asking for anything that backs up your theory on a share falling out of the ftse100 index, a very specific point? Something that is easily measurable, and has been looked at numerous times. Not your views on the industry or academic research on markets in general. That's another topic. You only really needed to say "no". | alex1621
22/2/2017 09:23 | If you are looking for "Academic proof" in the equity markets, you are totally barking. The markets are all about taking views - not academic proof. Academic research into finance gets it wrong time and time again. The sector is bringing about its own agony by too much competition, too many new jets and an over zealous expansion of fleets. Too much excess capacity leading to a massive Price War which is hitting the profitability of the airlines hard. RyanAir's share Buy-Back policy has done little to support its share price and I doubt that EasyJet's policy to buy-back will do much good either. The sector is mired with far too much competition leading to punitive seat discounting to put bums-on-seats, amongst a whole load of other challenges. In my view, the sector will not improve until seat capacity is removed from the sector. I think EasyJet is a great airline but the sector backdrop is appallingly bad. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
22/2/2017 09:04 | indeed...a superb read QP guessing you have not reinvested your Avesco bounty into this. can see from technical position of EZJ that many will have had opportunity to make good money on the long side, resistance at £11.00 from as recently as mid Oct of last Year.. but this has fallen sharply since middle of last Year... as always , all about that T word.... Timing... have not looked at EZJ from a fundamental perspective.. | stoxx67
22/2/2017 09:02 | I have read that book, but it's not about companies that fall out of an index and the effect that has on their share price, is it? LTCM became unstuck during the Russian debt crisis when the correlations between asset prices went out of whack. So what you really mean is that you have no proof, no analytical research, to back up your case? It's what you hope will happen, possibly because you have a short spread bet on the stock? I've no idea where EZJ will be at the end of the year, or next year for that matter ... and neither do you. | alex1621
22/2/2017 08:55 | 'Coz it's a lot of old tosh. I could name many companies which used to be FTSE100 companies which crashed out never to return. If you want to talk about academic research and how wrong academics can be, I recommend that you read the excellent book ,When Genius Failed by Roger Lowenstein about the nobel prize-winning professors from Harvard who joined LTCM and whose research ultimately proved worthless and brought about the collapse of LTCM. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
22/2/2017 08:48 | We settled the "move out of the ftse 100" a couple of weeks ago. I even quoted the academic work on the subject ... seems that share price recovers within 120 days, so it makes no difference to long term holders but does represent a buying opportunity for traders.QP never responded at that time, perhaps he'd like to cite his own evidence? | alex1621 |
