20/7/2011 16:15 | i know there have been problems of late, not least with SA ANC sillyness, but also labour problems and a shareholder law suit, so i really dont know what im getting myself into, but it seems that the ANC thing is just noise from the youth while the labour problem has been sorted. as for the law suit for non disclosure if price sensitive, i dunno where that is right now, or if there is anything to be concerned about, but at least production should be rising now... as is the SP | excellance

07/7/2011 09:36 | They have 25p a share cash and no debt. They have very substantial Platinum mine assets in South Africa, the least risky of all the African nations. 9 brokers have buy recs on it and the last price I saw from Goldman Sachs was 120p a share. At these depressed levels they must be vulnerable to a bid. One to tuck away. | restassured

01/7/2011 02:37 | Isn't the lawsuit a zero sum game if you're a holder? If the lawsuit proceeds, the share price takes a dump; and whatever damages you get, if you win, will be taken out of the company you own. | utterberk
30/6/2011 15:59 | I have to say I'll be overjoyed if the class action lawsuit is allowed to proceed! | clinton baptiste

18/5/2011 20:46 | Didnt see this before this is from Wednesday overnight I presume The Jse shrugged off a weaker opening on Wall Street to close in the black ahead of the weekend on Friday amid a good boost from firmer commodity prices and a weaker rand. The JSE's all share index climbed 0.88 percent and closed at 31 959.93 points. The gold mining index jumped 1.86 percent, resources lifted 1.19 percent, while the platinum mining index added 0.36 percent. Banks and financials advanced 0.85 percent and 0.42 percent respectively while industrials climbed 0.80 percent. Among gold counters, Anglogold Ashanti jumped 5.70 rand or 1.87 percent to 310.40 rand and Gold Fields collected 2.39 rand or 2.24 percent to 108.99 rand. Randgold, however, plunged 15 cents or 5.56 percent to 2.55 rand. Resources heavyweight Anglo American leapt 1.37 percent to 333.00 rand, Sasol firmed 1.48 percent to 360.19 rand and BHP Billiton rose 2.57 rand to 267.62 rand. BHP Billiton's release of its supplementary environmental impact statement on Friday is one of the surest signs that the group plans to go ahead with a US$30-billion expansion. Among platinum miners, Eastern Platinum surged 7.40 percent to 6.97 rand and Impala Platinum added 1.00 rand to 185.00 rand. Impala Platinum said on Friday that its refined platinum production rose by nine percent to 1.38 million ounces (Moz) for the nine-month period to the end of March, compared with the corresponding period last year. In the nine months to March 2010, the company reported production of 1.26Moz. The increase was attributed to a combination of increased throughput at Impala Rustenburg and IRS. Elsewhere in the mining universe, steel producer ArcelorMittal rallied 3.63 percent to 81.35 rand, and base metals miner Assore climbed 1.90 percent to 214.00 rand. Among industrials, brewer SABMiller inched up 1.56 percent to 254.80 rand and Richemont found 1.84 percent to 44.25 rand. Banking giant Standard Bank added 1.18 percent to 99.80 rand. | debbiegee
