03/8/2015 15:53 | eddiew:if BG or Elliot are aware of a dividend coming then that presumably is insider information. | zingaro
03/8/2015 15:34 | Maybe a payment of an interim divi has been part of the things that BG and Elliot may have asked for. If I was them I would have wanted it | eddiew
03/8/2015 14:45 | ENOC can do pretty well what they like with DGO, they call all the shots, always have done and inhabit the same office. The so called "independent committee" is a prime example. Why would they give away a chunk of cash now that the deal is done? I had a holding in an insurance company called Catlin which taken over by a US firm. Part of the offer was that a dividend would be paid which obviously reduces the value of the company paying the div by the same amount which is why shares drop on ex div day. That's not going to happen here. Thanks to all, will really miss this BB, it's the only one I look at really, been interesting, informative and amusing over the years, one or two idiots as well but they seem to have disappeared in the last year or so, good luck to everyone. best regards Richard | richardbroughton
03/8/2015 14:22 | Why has there been over 1m shares bought today at almost the final offer price? Is there an expectation that an interim dividend will be declared on Friday? It is interesting to note that Interim dividends are not subject to shareholder approval (ie ENOC can not stop an interim?) | jecs
03/8/2015 14:08 | Full whack, good news. What about staying the execution for 2 weeks to see what happens with the dividend? Or if I accept and they pay a dividend (doubtful I think) would I get it? Or is this definitely a no dividend share now? | johnmcd51
03/8/2015 13:33 | no dealing costs you'll be paid full whack | bealey
03/8/2015 13:32 | Do we still get the dividend? Was considering selling this morning but we are only 2 weeks away from ex dividend date. | beefeater25
03/8/2015 13:26 | If the new offer is accepted by a majority and ENOC get DGO will we get the full price per share with no losses for dealing costs etc eg 10,000 x £8 = £80,000 in the bank? | johnmcd51
03/8/2015 12:45 | dragon2go Will this forum eventually be closed down by ADVFN? If so, can you set up an initial forum for us all to discuss other prospects. It would be fun for us to choose a fitting name for the new forum. How about something simple like The Dragon Gang. I would love to meet up with some/all of you in the future. BBB | biffbudbert
03/8/2015 12:38 | Try looking at empyrean energy. No advice intended, dyor etc. I'm a holder there and the future looks very bright | blakieboy7
03/8/2015 12:26 | Thanks to all the knowledgeable people on this site - especially Fido who has been posting useful info for a long time. I sold my holding this morning at ~799, the end of an era. My wife & I are lucky we managed to stash our entire holding in ISAs and SIPPs so we don't need to worry about the CGT issue, but I recognize the frustration this will cause for those unable to protect their entire profit. So where do we invest the profit? I need somewhere more exciting than the usual funds, an investment with an active online community. Thoughts anyone? | vasque
03/8/2015 12:10 | Bryce Elder seems very unhappy that ENOC had to cougj up an extra 50p a share, believes they have been robbed! | dragon2go
03/8/2015 11:55 | dragon2go: a forum for CGT sounds great - not sure how easy that would be to set-up. If it helps anyone I've found that if you're not registered for self assesment then you don't need to declare the CGT until after April 2016 i.e. the next tax year. I was in a panic that I needed to get all this done by October 2015. | saget
03/8/2015 10:42 | Yes, thanks fido and others for the quality and accuracy of your posts, and posts in general here. Agree that DRAGON is not well understood, reflected in the post today from Soco "expert" emptyend. At least thanks to pressure from the likes of Baillie Gifford too we got an extra 50p. | kenmitch
03/8/2015 10:26 | Cheers Fido, And many thanks for all your hard work, relentless research and info. Although sadly we all have to move on I am still finding it hard to come to terms with this appalling scenario. I feel like I've been mugged in broad daylight by a bunch of deceiptful white collar criminals. | oscarino
03/8/2015 10:19 | Thank you zingaro! | myshares1
03/8/2015 10:11 | myshares1: from todays RNS "-- Dragon Oil Shareholders who have already validly accepted the Original Offer need take no further action; their acceptances will be treated as acceptances of the Increased Offer." | zingaro
03/8/2015 10:09 | Fido thanks for all your efforts and information Garfield | garfield31
03/8/2015 10:08 | Public holiday in Ireland, cannot find out if original forms of acceptance can be used, or will we get new ones. | lucy123
03/8/2015 10:08 | Good morning I wish I had come across this site beforehand but I accepted the £7.50 offer does that mean I will still £7.50 and not the £8. These are the only shares I have which I bought at 20p many years ago, many thanks | myshares1
03/8/2015 09:47 | Fido: "The saving grace is that I along with everyone else did what we could to protect our investment and people must be proud of that." I, for one am very grateful for the many man hours you and the others have spent on this stock for us all to benefit. Another take over target on the horizon is RSA was wondering if you had any thoughts. | a77
03/8/2015 09:40 | Well done DGO investors, it's inspiring to see the success stories in exploration production. Here's one for for you Ardfert2: LOGP. Drilling for gas at Midleton. Operated by Petronas=Kinsale energy. Higher than averag cos. Sitting on 20% of light oil discovery at Barryroe, awaiting (endless) farmout negotiations by PVR to conclude. Also prospects at Amergin and one other. 3D seismics done. LOGP not overextended with debt, nor a ridiculous collection of licences they will never explore. I don't usually do promotions for stock I hold, but just wanted to read how it feels to be holding a takeover stock, hence I am on this bb. And since you asked... | cephalosaurus
03/8/2015 09:30 | With all due respect, Fido, I don't think this can be described as a "lowball offer". You are getting a price which is a third above the share price a year ago, despite the oil price having more than halved. Investors in almost all other E&P companies would give their right arm for such exit terms - just have a look around the sector. So well done! Now what? | emptyend
03/8/2015 09:25 | fido, The end of an era. Respect & regards, jecs | jecs
