|Re time of cash received; some broker accounts will have a "value day" for the transaction, which is more important than the actual time it appears, which may depend on systems - immediate or overnight updates; internal procedured for block nomimee a/cs, workload, etc!
Extrader - 6/1 was probably the date the shares were assented, so no longer available for sale. There will have been some sort of record that funds were due, but that may not have been visible to you. Eg for O2 my broker list shows "O2 Ord 0.001p Assd Tele cash" - ie I have assented the Telefonica offfer|
|Lloyds (shareviewdealing) hasn't credited my account yet (cob Fri 26th), having removed the shares from my portfolio valuation on 06th Jan.....|
|Monies not in my account yet, although broker told me yesterday it should be in today. Has everybody else got their dosh yet? If so, makes me wonder if my broker ain't playing fair...|
|Just checked my account. Monies have now arrived. Good advice about not holding breath last Friday!!|
|Per the announcement of 6 January 'The Offer has been extended and will remain open for acceptance until 1.00 p.m. on 26 January 2006' so the offer remains open until then.|
|"..the shares are being delisted, not cancelled."
True - though the RNS says the opposite. That will cost the advisors £10k off the fees.|
|Thanks for the advice Angora7, much appreciated.|
|WirralOwl I don't think you can assume you will get the dosh, the shares are being delisted, not cancelled.. Thats why today's rns says that people who still hold shares will find themselves in an illquid market, or words to that effect. You may still be able to accept the offer from Rydenor, talk to your broker/nominee account, because they have probably extended the deadline. I think if they get some % in the 90s is when they can force remaining shareholders to accept their offer.
|Not sure. My reading of it was that the earliest would be the 26th January but within 14 days of receipt of valid acceptance if this gave a later date. I would think that they need perhaps a week to print the cheques and post them etc and they will want to do as few print runs as possible. My guess is that anyone who has got their forms to Computershare by early this week is likely to get their cash next Thursday and anyone after that will be waiting a little longer.
I hope I'm wrong and the cash arrives tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.|
|As a 'laggard' who has been away and missed the offer's closing date, I take it I will still receive my monies when the shares are cancelled, or do I need to sell in the open market, while I still have the chance? Thanks in advance.|
|walterstreet - thanks- just a point of clarification though. Does the extension of the offer supersede the terms of the original and apply to all holders? I had interpreted the extension to be applicable to the "laggards" (who at the 6 January had not accepted).|
|Thanks! Mine were in a nominee account also, so I'll keep checking. Cheers!|
|LFDKMP - Maybe your correspondence was before the offer was extended. Extracting from Rydenor's announcement of 6 January:
"Settlement of the consideration due in respect of the Offer will be effected on
or before 26 January 2006 for Dowding & Mills Shareholders who have already
validly accepted the Offer."
I think we'll be waiting until next Thursday.|
|Mine are held in a nominee account. Corrspondence from them states:
"Settlement of the Offer will be effected by the registrars for valid acceptances within 14 days of the Offer being declared unconditional in all respects."
The offer was declared unconditional on 6 Jan. Provided acceptance was notified correctly, I calculate proceeds should be received no later than 20 Jan - ie tomorrow.|
|So, today's announcement means it's delisted as of 16th Feb. But can anyone tell me when we get our dosh?|
|got offer papers today!|
|TBF, Yes they have. I got mine just before Christmas.|
|Anyone know if the offer papers have been published yet?|
the big fella
Angora - You too.|
I think you are missing the point.|

|IF I understand all that you have said so far, I am saying that you are turning your real and only profit of 1.5% into a theoretical and unobtainable profit of 18%, by telling yourself that you are in effect going to repeat the 1.5% profit of one month for the next 11 months, as well! If you were subject to capital gains tax on you share dealings, would you declare an 18% profit on DWM?|
|Azalea, don't really see what you mean, but in any case FYI, I spoke to Strands today; should get money around 16th Jan, so its actually an annualised profit of 26% (approx)|
I agree with your maths, but not with your claim of an annualised profit of 18%; equivalent to, but in reality not actual.|
|Mind you, the market seems to be disagreeing with me; 1.6m sells, 150K buys. At this rate, they won't need to offer 20p, they can get all they want for 19P! LOL|
