True that market cap is smaller than Fixed asset value and what we may be seeing is linked to that but I wonder (probably unnecessarily) what caused this increase in the short space of time that it has happened when the results were out some time ago and nothing has given me any real confidence that this years results will be all that much greater.

Dobbies CEO reports says it has been a good Easter, but cautions that the garden season has started later this year, due to poor weather.

this must have more to do with property values than with current trading?

oh come on, another 2% rise and nobody's got anything to say! No news from DGC though either

up on the offer price only, restoring the spread we are more used to you on DGC

Remember it's XD today - 6.55p. So far, share price has only dropped 3.5p....so it's effectively UP 3p on the day at present!

price dropping but only on the offer price at the moment. consequently only 2p spread (0.2%)

Share price rise even more surprising given the weak trading most garden centres have experienced. I operate in this industry and the late spring season, sees plant sales around a month behind the previous few years. Centres have been deserted relative to March of the last few years. I would expect warnings on poor sales, not these kind of price rises. All IMO of course.

space - we all get them wrong sometimes but perhaps you could let us know what other bb's you are on ;-)

I like a 5p rise on such small volumes, been through as many websites as possible for news and absolutely nothing relevant prior to Feb.

Both BBR and WGC have had substantial climbs recently but both currently showing declines over the last month or so.

Anybody with L2 shed some light on MM's?

Well, it looks like my Sp predictions of a few months back have proved to be a load of cobblers - investors seeem hot for this one. Good luck to all.

well since we don't know anything, there doesn't seem much point in posting. I've been on holiday - just checked the price for the first time in over a week - pleasant surprise!

up from the outset again this morning - 31% increase in two months and you can see the tumbleweed blowing gently across this BB

and loving it, though would love it more if I had an inkling why, the volumes today as for many days, have been pretty poor.

This one just keeps going up and up. Up 2.5p on no volumes today - anyone interested in this know why

Continuing a steady climb on very little volume

WGC news today having an impact perhaps or even more to it than that?

whatever the reason it is welcomed. Though I suspect, with absolutely no grounds to suspect, that it is more than just institutional stake building

Perhaps someone (hedge fund??) sees Dobbies as a mini Wyevale.

big big jumps to use official trading jargon - still not sure I see a reason for it

yes I wasn't expecting this jump. However they are building up quite a portfolio of big retail sites (and the one's I've seen have been in good positions) so big investors may be happy to take a stake - if Dobbies can't make good money out of them someone else will probably have a go. There seems to be lots of private equity money around at present too. I'm holding.

not that I'm not pleased with these hikes upwards, but they seem like quite a jump on the back of what amount to middling results

These results are better than I expected. It just needs some nice weather this year to fire up the plant sales (and more plant customers should mean more sales in other areas too) and this year could be impressive. Debt up a lot, but with lots of valuable asset backing that should not be a problem.
