25/6/2009 15:46 | Hoorah, finally got the cash - Good luck one and all! | taylor20
25/6/2009 15:45 | in fact no need , its in mine , what can you say ? | holts
25/6/2009 15:43 | Thanks Geoff , will get back on the phone. | holts
25/6/2009 15:40 | Well. The money is in my account now. | geoffro
25/6/2009 15:05 | Yes. I've received the same e-mail from selftrade. The money must have been received by selftrade for them to say such things. | geoffro
25/6/2009 13:55 | Getting closer?!!? From selftrade: TAKEOVER Following completion the resulting cash proceeds of 215 pence per share will be credited to your cash account shortly. | taylor20
25/6/2009 13:03 | Napoleon is right; the cause being the country of origin. Nothing but bad expriences with them and now stictly leave their stocks alone. Should have sold this before they took over. | cestnous
24/6/2009 23:03 | Well my experience is similar to Napoleon I hold with both Selftrade and iDealing, and I've had my dosh from neither. I did get both forms from Selftrade at the same time. | 3offthet
24/6/2009 21:58 | hello hoveite- well i had an email from idit mor on the 18th saying that no claims have been filed by brearley as yet.i just hope its all wrapped up before the changeover from brearley to aj bell for sippdeal share deals or our money could be delayed even longer. | funchalman
24/6/2009 21:22 | Have to disagree Napoleon re self trade , they are to blame , see the info I posted previously , those replies came from Idot Mor at DTK , Self Trade have tried to process the lot in one go rather than transmit the forms in batches , which means those who got on with it and filled in forms correctly have suffered as a result , but to make it worse they re-assured me my forms were being sent on the 18th May (only a month after I returned them), a plague on their house. | holts
24/6/2009 18:36 | Funchalman in reply to your query of a few days ago - I'm with James Brearley (via Sippdeal). I was emailed the tax forms at the end of April which I sent back then. I haven't heard anything since - and the payment hasn't appeared in my account yet. | hoveite
24/6/2009 10:36 | A bit of smoke and mirrors I suspect, seems to be part of them changing their fee structure - and not directly related to the DTK problems. They have introduced a blanket fee across all their accounts (see below), I guess they have waived it for those people who have a tendency to overtrade :-; Simple Management Fee An annual fee of £35 plus VAT covers all of your Selftrade accounts. | taylor20
24/6/2009 10:19 | taylor20, Is this generosity on the part of Selftrade a direct result of their poor showing on DTK? | jadeticl
24/6/2009 10:01 | On the plus side, Selftrade have waived my ISA fees on my account, and thrown in 3 free trades in August. | taylor20
24/6/2009 09:42 | Yep, can't even claim for loss of opportunity on investments as I presume all they have to say is, well it could have gone down as well as up , I think maybe only a trashing in the press would have some reaction , and even that is tomorrows fish and chip paper. | holts
23/6/2009 21:25 | I'm actually a lawyer, and I'd say litigation would definitely be too much aggro. It would be difficult to prove much loss to the satisfaction of a Court and doubtless the Selftrade terms and conditions exclude liability to the fullest extent allowed by law anyway. As usual in these circs the odds are stacked against the consumer. Nope, I'm just going to settle for sending them a letter telling them where to put it and moving my business to a more professional outfit. | fullbreakfast
23/6/2009 20:55 | Your only recourse is the FOS , but my guess is they are so snowed under that your only satisfaction would be long term. The other would be some form of legal redress, duty of care etc, however unless you are able to undertake this yourself the aggro and expense is not worthwhile and that is exactly what they rely on, knowing in percentage terms their chances of being stung are minimal. | holts
23/6/2009 09:56 | yep I had two forms from Selftrade very similar if i recall. Needed to concentrate for ten minutes to fill them out. I suppose I should check if I actually completed the task successfully!. | littleweed
23/6/2009 08:34 | fullbreakfast, I feel exactly the same about Selftrade. Obviously we cannot transfer now, and even to say we are going to move raises the fear that they would progress my money EVEN SLOWER (is that possible?). I have raised a formal complaint--but that has been acknowledged without any response. Does any Selftrade client have any practical advice on what we might do collectively? I too returned from 2 weeks holiday on 22nd, fully expecting the money to be available at last, but NO Sign of it--only a useless message saying they will let me know when they know anything themselves. | jadeticl
22/6/2009 22:12 | FB , they don't give a toss, the only thing they will understand is a hit in the wallet . | holts
22/6/2009 15:10 | Thanks for the information taylor20. They really are a shower. The Selftrade office in E14 is about an hour's journey for me. I'm sorely tempted to pop down there late tonight with a couple of jerrycans of unleaded and burn the place to the ground, but I suppose I'll content myself with a strongly-worded letter of complaint. | fullbreakfast |
