Thanks to all for the useful info on forms and brokers's responses.

Coverage from Selftrade has been rather patchy, looks like me and HOLTS got the two forms straight away, elm got his second form a bit later, and you were unlucky enough never to get the second form :(

elmfield - 5 May'09 - 20:33 - 1182 of 1291

I have filled in one lot with passport information etc and blow me down am getting another batch of formes which also need to be signed and returned before the registrar will pay out the money!

HOLTS - 6 May'09 - 08:46 - 1183 of 1291

did you get two sheets in the first place , slightly different but requesting similar info elm ?

taylor20 - 6 May'09 - 19:56 - 1188 of 1291 edit

I suspect I received the same forms as HOLTS (from Selftrade), one for Declaration of Status for Israeli Income Tax Purposes and One for Declaration of Controlling Interest (or not).

Still no money yet, but then I'm lucky if I can log into my account these days!

I have received a second form from Selftrade today. Having returned the original form on the day I received it (in April, completed correctly) I'm spitting mad.

I didn't keep a copy of the original form, but in my case the new form (Declaration of Controlling Interest for Non-Israeli Residents) is definitely different from the form I originally filled in, which had a series of questions aimed at establishing whether there were any grounds on which I could be deemed to be resident in Israel. This form is just seeking a declaration as to whether or not I hold a controlling interest in Dmatek (pointless piece of bureaucratic idiocy to make everyone declare this IMO, but that's beside the point).

So it appears to me that Selftrade should have had us complete two forms at the start of this process, and two months have been wasted by their failure to do so.

Can anyone who uses a competent broker confirm whether they were given two forms to fill in at the outset??

Thanks for any help.

Selftrade asked me to fill in a second form, which I did, and it contained exactly the same information as the copy I had kept from the first time. I made no mistakes. They replied to an e-mail last week, with a one liner. 'We have at present no information as to when these funds will be available.'

Thats a pity as my information is direct from DTK themselves and I intend to batter them over the head with it , I do not expect silver service with their cheap dealing etc but I expect the truth and a remote level of competence.

extract from correspondence below:

Whereas Selftrade indeed filed and claimed teh cash on behalf of many of Dmatek shareholders, Capita had to reject the forms as many of them were not filled right. Selftrade would now need to resubmit the ones that were completed correctly with a new Letter of Surrender for an amended total amount of shares.
Their administrators are in touch with both myself and capita to ascertain teh most efficient way about it.

It is encouraging that your name is not on the queried forms list, yet I have not seen anything in respect to the filing so I am reliant on what Sleftrade and Capita advises.

I telephoned Selftrade yesterday ( on hold for 15 mins !) and the person I spoke too knew nothing re- new surrender letter ( he did check with someone who should have known ) .They said they were doing everything possible to expedite payment .Seems to be some inconsistency in response .Not to be trusted I suspect....and we'll have to wait sometime for payment .At least I established my form had been correctly filled in !!

Well done to everyone who has received payment...at least someone is getting paid!!! If anyone with Selftrade receives payment, please let me know.
Likewise, if I receive payment, I'll post here too.
Hopefully we will all be paid very soon.
Cheers

Yes, it's been a good year so far. I'm up about 10% - not bad considering 50% is in Gilts. Today looks horrid, though - a sea of red. The bright spot is ROK which fortunately is one of my larger holdings.

Well that's that.

Just tidying my spreadsheet and see I first invested in these in 2002. That's a long time ago. Made gains of between 20% and 442% on 12 positions just closed. Not bad but you always want more in this game.

Its been a great year so far in the market so lets hope that continues. Good to end on a positive note.

Well done to all those who have a less cr@p broker than me!

Rang Selftrade again today (they have stopped even reading my emails). My forms are all present and correct and are with the registrar. "Just a matter of waiting for the money to come through". They had told me the forms were with the registrar on the 18th May, so not sure what the hold up is.

They have a list of clients who have incorrectly filled in the forms, apparently my name isn't on it. Probably worth ringing to check?

Just got an email from IG asking me if I want to roll over my DTK June contract to Sept.

Phoned them to ask what is going on and they seem as clueless as the rest. They are still waiting for their broker to clear funds and don't seem to know when that will be.

Luckily this is only a small position but still money tied up I can't invest.

At least the GBP is at over EUR 1.17 again. That makes me feel better.

Anyone looking for somewhere to put their DTK proceeds could do worse than look at REDT. Results out today and the share price is up over 60% as I write.

Thanks, If funds are not in tomorrow I will give them a call but this is usually a waste of time with this clueless bunch.

What a mistake not selling in the market but you live and learn.
