1112 GMT - European shares fall as the prospect of an uncertain geopolitical weekend ahead puts markets on their guard. The Stoxx Europe 600 sheds 1.1%, or 4.1 points, to 371.97 as the continuing stand-off between Washington and Pyongyang prompts dealers to go into safety-first mode. "The weekend brings an undefined amount of risk for investors, with the potential for circumstances to escalate both dramatically and unexpectedly at a time when markets are closed," says Craig Erlam at foreign exchange firm Oanda. Drug company Galapagos NV is the top riser, up 2.6% on positive brokerage comment. Dixons Carphone PLC falls 8.7% after Exane downgrades it to under-perform. (philip.waller@wsj.com)
