09/5/2015 07:23 | Quiet here but progress goes on. Away from the election, Dixons Carphone (LON:DC) has received a number of optimistic write-ups after a meeting yesterday. Canaccord has raised its profits forecast for 2015 by £16m (4%) to the top end of the £355m-£3 Citigroup meanwhile has analysed Dixons’ Connected World Services (CWS), for which it has raised it underlying profits forecast to £65mln implying 10% upside on the potential for Apple sales through its honeyBee platform. “Whilst visibility on honeyBee economics is limited, we model Apple honeyBee potential by taking Apple’s 456 stores globally, assuming c1-6% of iPhone/iPad devices sold in-store are connected and that DC receives a c$5-$7 commission/connectio UBS adds that Carphone Warehouse’s management believes the recent spate of network consolidation offers a number of advantages. CPW is still the biggest scale operator, and sells connections for all networks, and is thus the most efficient route to market. On UBS estimates, it will have almost 40% of the mobile points of sale once all the CPW store inserts in Currys are completed. ‘Buy’ with a price target of 490p is the UBS view on Carphone Warehouse. | mikepompeyfan

23/4/2015 08:07 | Not content to just sell other manufacturers phones and mobile plans, Carphone Warehouse is launching a network of its own. Called iD, the mobile network will launch in May and offer free roaming in 22 countries including the US, Australia and across Europe. The firm's boss told MailOnline the aim is to offer features that customers want, including 12-month contracts and affordable 4G handsets. Carphone Warehouse's mobile network launches in May and will offer free roaming in 22 countries, including the US, Australia and across Europe. When iD launches next month it will offer the most comprehensive range of roaming countries, ahead of Three with 18 countries and Lyca on 17. Carphone Warehouse's iD will use Three's existing infrastructure to offer these networks and plans. | mikepompeyfan
15/4/2015 08:39 | 'Dixons Carphone did not disclose any value for the deal, but said it will receive 3 per cent of Drillisch's shares after completion. The German group has a current stock market value of €2.1bn'. Well l make that worth about £63m then if l've got my decimal points in the right place ;-) | mikepompeyfan
15/4/2015 08:32 | Market seems to like this deal then. Dixons Carphone sells Phone House Deutschland 15 April 2015 | 07:45am Dixons Carphone has agreed to sell The Phone House Deutschland GmbH to Drillisch, a leading mobile virtual network operator in Germany. Dixons Carphon says this disposal follows a period of significant restructuring for the German business and is in line with the group's stated strategy of focusing on market leadership positions while engaging in other markets through partnerships with its Connected World Services division. Following completion, which is expected to take place by the end of May at the latest, Dixons Carphone will receive circa 3% in shares of the Drillisch AG Group, with potential further deferred payments from future excess cash flows. Group chief executive Sebastian James said: "Having previously announced the disposal of our retail operations and the closure of our wholesale hardware operations in Germany, today's announcement is a positive move to secure the future of the significant remaining operations within The Phone House Deutschland through a partnership with Drillisch AG, a highly professional, successful and growing business. "At the same time, this transaction enables Drillisch to broaden its horizons into wholesale connection and dealer operations. "We have also agreed a long-term service contract, for the provision of insurance, with scope to expand this into further services in future, through our Connected World Services division. We believe that this is the start of a strong, healthy and growing business together and I could not be more pleased to be working with this excellent team." | mikepompeyfan
