drrichard, and we have to pay back some of the 50% share price rises at the end of 2010. Happens every year and stuff will rise a bit by April (ish).

The longer the week the more welcome the weekend.

Hi Marab

Poster on RRR reported that CMC are closing all AIM spreads and this is resulting in forced sell off? Also self-employed tax due Monday 31st

AS you say a rough week, and a long one workwise

Could have sold a lump of 200,000 at 4.33p this afternoon, so someone wanted some stock.

drrichard, I think most of us will be glad to see the market close on Friday. Been a rough week for most AIM stocks. Hardly surprising after the rise at the end of the year.

Sounds like payment based on per centage increase in NAV will very rapidly ensure these shares trade at a discount to NAV soon enough

drrichard, check the closing prices against the prices of a week ago. I think you will find there is not a great deal of difference.

Hi everyone

Tonight's closing prices are amazing!
Silver Wheaton up 6.2%
Ascot Mining up 15.8%
First Majestic up 12.5%
Great Panther up 12.4%
Kootenay Gold up 6.1%

I am not entirely sure why but good news for us, and indeed TW I guess. Let us see what tomorrow brings

knowsleyman, TW said people could judge DXR by AHG. NAV out today 0.6p - share price 1.1p. No information there either. The only ones who actually know what is happening is TW and associates.

drrichard "Just lucky now and again", at the end of the day that's what counts. I have twice as many MTV, but I also have a large CGT bill to pay, so as long as my shares don't drop by more than 28% I am still quids in. RGM is a long term hold anyway, and with so many possibilities it has to do well at some point. I have reduced the number of stocks I hold, and all of them I am happy to keep for the long term. Seems to take the pressure off.

Good evening Marab,
My recent 2 x 50K purchases are in profit but my original stake is not quite!

Made a very small top up on MTV yesterday morning and was mulling a Kenny size upgrade when all hell broke loose and I have decided to stick with my 1 mill for the moment. Would that my timing was good elsewhere. I recall calling 20p as the low point for HAWK a year ago and look where that left me! Still waiting for RGM to come back as well so no claim to be tip top punter I am afraid. Just lucky now and again

The great pity us mug shareholders do not know how many of each shares were bought and what the price paid was. I, personaly, think this is a disgrace and do not think that the AIM rules should be able to make this possible.

drrichard, looks like you are in profit from your recent share purchase. Now if you can just transfer some of that luck to MTV.

ARGY2, Ascot rise of 18.5% takes it back to where it was last week.

Well, I called a notional bottom at 3.76p and made a small top up. It looks like we have others buying also. Let us hope we have touched bottom

If you like gold, just buy some. If you like oil, just buy a couple of barrels of that too.

Doesn't work in reality, sorry.

IF the future of DXR lies in an increase in the price of silver, why not just buy silver bullion. Buying shares in DXR, which in turn is buying shares in silver mining stocks, is not the way to go imo. The chance is that DXR will trade, like most investment trusts, at a big discount to the value of it's investments.

Really what is the point. I got out of here some weeks ago when the new strategy sunk in with me, and I realised how many middlemen there were between me and the silver, all taking a little slice of the action.

Imo if the experts have got it wrong re gold and silver demand, mining shares will fall perhaps dramatically, and DXR even quicker. If you fancy silver appreciating, then buy the metal.

drrichard, good evening to you, and good luck with your attempt at guessing the NAV (not a sarcastic comment) and you may be able to sharpen up the estimates through NAV RNSs and also any feedback that might come from those who get the t1ps subscription letters. TW seems to feel happy giving information there that he won't release anywhere else. Maybe those who get it could post any snippets here to help you with your calculations.

As to when to buy, I think that might depend primarily on where TW wants the bottom to be, although with a finite amount of capital to invest he may prefer to put it elsewhere. When the price gets low enough PI's will also probably get more interested. That's one thing you can say about DXR, nothing is certain.

Evening Marab

My portfolio is in an H-L SIPP and it is far easier (and I suspect cheaper)for me to buy TSX via TW than H-L. I also hope that TW is not too hopeless at share spotting (given his resources in addition to any talent) and he has contacts, viz the Ascot deal. No way could I have got that but I can ride with him

re NAV, one could look at the SPs of the holdings for the peri-EGM period and estimate buy-in price I guess but I am going to try to post a Friday evening summary with weekly and monthly movements so we can see where we are going even if absolute NAV is impossible to assess.

Hi Peterz, we meet again! I have some funds ready but when to call the bottom, 4p, or 3.8?

drrichard

drr, if it goes on like this will be able to accumulate very cheaply! Looking closely.

This is a re-run of the Landers chapter of DXR. They released no news and the share price drifted down and they bought more shares as everybody exited for more exciting stocks. TW tipped this share to his followers who have bought up to 6p and are now sitting on a 30%+ loss. That means the share has to go up 50% just for them to break even. TW needs to add value here and can do so in 3 ways that I can think of. He can do something at AHG and hope that that casts a favourable light on DXR. He can buy more shares here to encourage people to think it is a good investment. He can ramp the hell out of it, although quite how you do that without telling people what they have invested in beats me. Unless we get a good NAV of course, which will be calculated by TW on investments we can't quantify or check. Basically the public NAV here will be whatever TW says it is.

There is also the fourth option, that DXR gets sold on to someone else to play with.

jaylett, "("TIM") will receive a fee equivalent to 15% of the increase in
the net asset value ("NAV") of the Company payable in shares at the NAV each
quarter." Doesn't matter what the share price is, and if people sell because of lack of information TW's funds can buy when the share price is less than NAV. TW, his funds and associates are the only ones who will know what the NAV is, although this is not in any way insider trading because ..... answers on a postcard please.

drrichard, "the stock selection is pretty good" and you can buy them directly. The question is, Does TW's 15% on NAV increase make it cheaper to buy directly or not? "we could look on it as an opportunity to accumulate stock cheaply" is a good point depending only on whether TW still has his original stake here or whether he has sold part or all of his holding. If he still holds, then buying at a 15% discount to 3.8p would give a safer investment in DXR in regard to TW funds.

Interesting to note that TW said he would buy within 30 seconds of the EGM and he announced at Minesite that investments had been made. I am sure that many sold DXR shares because they thought that nothing had been purchased, yet from the Minesite presentation it seems that investments could have been made as promised. This is not manipulating the share price though because.... Answers on yet another postcard.

Agree with your thoughts exactly, Jaylett, and we could look on it as an opportunity to accumulate stock cheaply:)
