Thanks phil

I am firmly in the Brexit camp, but very much fear that it is a lost cause.

Thanks. That puts me in a dilemma. I had identified Diageo as a share I would sell in the run up to the vote. I missed the chance at £18.80, as I was out and about at the time, and I was unable to log on when the shares fell to £17.24 at which point I would have used surplus funds to buy more. No signal = no trade.

Looks like holding on for a bit longer.
I have no idea how many times I can get it wrong.

The US is by far DGE biggest market.

There will not be an drink duty increase, 60 plus Tory MP's immediately
said No support for an emergency budget, which is pure fantasy in any case.

A minimum alcohol price would be of benefit to DGE as they sell far more in
the mid and premium ends of the market.

I went to a City dinner recently and guess what - I sat next to a chap I was at school with who works for a big bank with a huge research department and so the beans were spilled............reseach is going to be cut back because its no good or seen to be no good buy those who buy it and the people who write it have never had any experience in running a business ...... could go on but you get the drift.

We can all work out if a share is a reasonable one to invest and DGE is but only on a drip feed basis.

However consider this..........

If you believe George Osbourne that duty will have to go soaring up if we leave the EU then expect a heafty drop in the price of this share. Would that be the time to buy big time??

End of rant............

Not food for thought BUT Drink for Thought...........

Global alcohol makers are bracing for a potentially precedent-setting court decision in Scotland over whether the country will become the first to implement a floor on alcohol prices - a move the industry feels could unleash an international wave of regulation.

After years of the case bouncing around the legal system, the Court of Session will hold a hearing on minimum unit pricing tomorrow and is expected to make a decision by August.

Did you read what the The Sunday Times had to say...............looking at how to play a second referandum in Scotland if the UK leave the EU..........

One third of the company profits now come from Scotland.........

Need to keep cool and wait for the 23 June and that is another uncertainty to add to the slowdown in UK business!!
