20/2/2014 16:20 | 2012 annual report, ''New branch office in India has progressed well in the year.'' The annual report for 2013 will show the revenue gained from this territory three years in ? | lcd interest
20/2/2014 15:37 | Has the British Airways contract taken off yet? Ho ho ho. | heartylaugh
14/1/2014 19:06 | Have only really digesting the significance of this just now, (my capitals added): " Densitron Technologies PLC 20 December 2013 Densitron Technologies plc Trading Update In AUGUST 2013 the Company announced that it EXPECTED to achieve an operating profit ahead of that achieved in 2012. This expectation was based on PRODUCTION ORDERS for business that at that time was in its pre-production phase. However, SEVERAL of these projects have NOT converted into mass production as quickly AS ANTICIPATED. As a consequence of this there is a SUBSTANTIAL PROFIT SHORTFALL in the UK as against previous management expectations". August to December and in just four months so much change in the expectations? My girlfriend's store card is managed with more foresight than that. | heartylaugh
09/1/2014 19:47 | they don't announce to the city something unless it's production ready, so it must be more than 100 units, or else it's not even worth mentioning s | lcd interest
08/1/2014 19:48 | Re BA tag, it says here it's a 100 unit trial and that if it goes ahead to anything further BA customers will have to buy the tags. Is that correct? If so what will they cost? | heartylaugh
08/1/2014 17:02 | the question is , will the loss they show in the forthcoming 2013 results reflect the same value lost in the writ payment, or will it be significantly more , highlighting a problem with the core business model~? | lcd interest
20/12/2013 17:53 | Oops wrong link, here's the October comment:- hxxp://michae1mouse. Michael. | michaelmouse
20/12/2013 17:41 | hxxp://michae1mouse. Posted the above back in October. Trading statement today more than confirms my resolution to give the company a wide berth. Michael. | michaelmouse
20/12/2013 16:12 | They put out a statement blaming UK orders not being strong. There was no mention of the companys 3 year push in india , or any new contract wins. I would say the company is suffering because of poor products... they go through new franchises faster than any similar company in the uk. UK companies like Germany , have long development timeframes, of several years. If Densitron is chopping and changing it's offers all the time it is inevitable that they are not meetig the needs of their target market. You would think that their directors were 100% focused on getting some money back by renting out the building in Newcastle also. They don't seem to have managed to do anything with it. It can't get any worse on the plus side. J | lcd interest
20/12/2013 08:37 | What a pile of crud. They never fail to disappoint. | callumross
20/12/2013 08:22 | I see this accident prone company have found yet another banana skin to slip up on. I did have a lot, but sold out early in the year after holding for a year during which they managed to find one banana skin after another. Its hard to put a positive spin on it all. | pentangle
19/12/2013 17:19 | Do Densitron have a patent/ip on this? Or can anyone manufacture it cheaper? | lcd interest
19/12/2013 16:47 | Fantastic news. Would be good to see an announcement from Densitron to explain the value of this. | heartylaugh
19/12/2013 16:33 | Interesting news on their bag tag... hxxp://theclub.ba.co Due for launch next year with Apple / IOS compatibility. | norbert colon
09/12/2013 21:50 | 'There are several other projects of this nature that are currently being worked on where production will commence in the third quarter of 2013' | heartylaugh
09/12/2013 09:48 | I think you are wrong, or have you seen BA tags yet in operation? This is just more Densitron hot air. They have no new clients in UK or they would be talking about them. | lcd interest
09/12/2013 09:09 | LCD Interest, you've got it wrong again. Unless British Airways is in India! There's a number of exciting new contracts going to production right now: 'We have recently announced that we are working with British Airways on an electronic luggage tag that will remove the need to attach the traditional paper tags. Working with a smart phone it will enable the user to automatically update the tag with the unique barcode containing their flight details. This project would not have been possible without our Bonding and Assembly facility and ePaper solution experience. There are several other projects of this nature that are currently being worked on where production will commence in the third quarter of 2013 and into 2014'. | heartylaugh
21/11/2013 19:28 | there were a lot of staff shed , it's 15 people in the UK now if you look at the annual report, it used to be 50 + when they had this building they are expanding more now in places like india and china where they have put tens of new staff the responsible party may not be working there now | lcd interest
26/10/2013 15:53 | hxxp://michae1mouse. Bizarre statement. So much for investor relations. Michael. | michaelmouse
24/10/2013 11:13 | If the lease problem was not shown under liabilities in the annual accounts and yet legally it was still Densitrons problem surely it is shareholders that have been mislead and have lost out here ? Where do we get our compensation ? Who were the lawyers that acted in the sale of the subsidiary or directors that failed to safeguard shareholders from a future claim?...somebody is to blame for it coming out of the woodwork? I only have a small holding but the principle for me remains that I need to understand what the liabilities and risks are when investing and this was not clear from the outset for me. | davidosh
24/10/2013 07:13 | Ah, just seen your post Stegrego. Thanks. Got all excited for a moment, thinking I'd be buying back in. Too soon for that, though. | investopia
24/10/2013 07:10 | Yes, the more I read it, the more it seems like they've agreed to pay a reduced amount for the back-rent but remain liable to pay on-going rent, at the market rate, until the lease is transferred to someone else. Anyone disagree? | investopia
24/10/2013 07:09 | They have had to pay back rent, perhaps at a reduced settlement cost, and are now renting a large empty shed at the current market rate. | stegrego
24/10/2013 07:07 | Can anyone untangle this morning's news? Rectification - does that just mean rewording the lease so that it says what it is supposed to have said? If so, and by the way Densitron is still seemingly concerned with selling on the lease to a someone else, it seems like Densitron still liable to pay if lease not taken by someone else?? Is the settlement just a reduced payment on back rent, perhaps? Here's some of the wording from the RNS: It was agreed that the details of the settlement would remain confidential but in essence the Company has agreed to a settlement amount and the rectification of the lease at the current market rent. The Board considers that the property is in good condition and is located in a prime location near to the Tyne tunnel. It has engaged an agent to market the property on its behalf and the agent is confident that a tenant or an assignee can be found for the building in due course. | investopia
24/10/2013 07:03 | Not great news IMHO. Yes, it's good to remove the uncertainty of the legal dispute but at what cost? They won't disclose it and in the meantime they are left renting a vacant premises of no value to the company. Does call into question the competency of a management that disposes of a subsidiary and just thinks that they can walk away from a binding lease with no further liability! | callumross |
