Hi,

Anyone else interested in Delcam ?

I'm sitting patiently on about 14,000 shares, happy with the valuation, just waiting for something to happen.

Bought most of mine at 140-160p. Looks cheap to me, esp if you strip out the R&D spend, although some of that might be sales-related.

Probably not a takeover target, as management own a large chunk, but who knows ? Might get gobbled up by a US group on a higher rating at some point.

Hopefully some newsflow soon, I am dying with boredom here !!! :-)

But the shares are cheap, on fundamentals, and that is all that matters.

Regards,

Paul Scott.

We still seem to be stuck in a rut with this one, grow plus dividends so I guess I will hold, but I would like some news on the new product....

The chart looks very bleak and no trading statement this year either about any pickup in orders. At least no profit warning. I wonder how the new product is going that went live this year. I hope this gives a fillip to the earnings.

But then they get marked down on no volume, unless there is a institutional seller out there. But I guess I am talking to myself on this thread!

Good grief. Buyers have returned to this share. Incredible but I stiull think there is value. I still want to hear more about the new, non-CAD product that they launched this year into a very difficult market. I rate this share and think they are a good buy at these levels. They also have a large customer base too (international) and are still generating earnings. I think they pay a dividend too.

Anyone know where this share is going. I hold two lots bought at 130p. Worth holding? They seem to have a very large customer base and some new product that seems to be rock solid in terms of software quality, but will it sell, I'd like some news....

And wtf do you get 9p likely in H2 Dundoe ??

50% increase in EPS over 6 months ?? Unlikely... if so they'd be on a forward p/e of about 25 !!

Yep, Dow graph wasn't much to get exciterd about either a few weeks ago.

Also today I have read house brokers buy rec. They compare Delcam to Flomerics and say that it is on a much lower rating - that was before Flomerics rise of 35% today on bid news.

Anyone who had bought serveral other techs last would have also bought on a chart looking very nasty, but would have been very smart.

6p eps in H1 which is their weaker half.

2.7% divi yield.

Recent 10K director buy @130p

Interim results said:

"Outlook

The general outlook for the second half of the year is satisfactory. In normal
circumstances, our second half produces better results than the first half. This
was not the case during 2001 but we believe that our normal trading pattern will
return this year, unless there is a further deterioration in global
manufacturing activity."

A solid company with solid profits and likely to turn 9p or more eps in H2, 15p for the year perhaps, and beating the consensus of 13.2p. That's a PE of 8.6 for this year and even lower going forward on the consensus estimate of 18.4p - a forward PE of less than 7.

Bags of growth potential too

There's value out there if you look for it.

Delcam lifted by second-half prospects

Wed 21 Aug 2002(109890)

LONDON (ShareCast) - Aim-listed computer-aided design and management company Delcam today reported a 29% fall in interim profits. But the figures were in line with expectations and an improvement on the second half of last year

Pre-tax profit for the six months to 30 June 30 2002 were £519,000, down from £734,000 in the previous first half, but up from £400,000 in the second half of 2001. Turnover for the six months grew to £9.52m from £9.0m.

Chairman TRM Kinsey said the general outlook for the second half of the year was satisfactory, and that the second half normally produced better results than the first half. "This was not the case during 2001 but we believe that our normal trading pattern will return this year, unless there is a further deterioration in global manufacturing activity."

Kinsey added that Delcam was focused on organic growth but that did not mean it excluded the possibility of acquiring other companies servicing the same market, if it was convinced that such a move would enhance shareholder value.

Delcam shares rose 8p, or 6.6%, to 129p in early morning trade, valuing the company at £8m.

Results due end of March, see fundamentals above

Price slaughtered today, just on a few sales

Very touchy situation

The 30 day & 100 day SMA have just crossed for a potential buy signal, look at the chart with period 1 year
