Any news on whether you can claim the capital loss yet in the 2000/01 tax return - i.e. can you make a negligible value claim?

I wouldn't actually throw the certificates away, but there doesn't seem to be any way that this company will ever re emerge under the same name or holding. It is possible however, that individuals or management may attempt to acquire a part of the company, but that will no doubt be considered a private enterprise and in which case your shares will be worthless.

I would say no. The Lafite will still flow and the small dish of Coke and straws will still remain on the coffee table.
Must dash , I am late for my 10am appointment for 20 lashes from my mistress.
We lead a simple life up here across the border do we not Aquila.
I think it must be all that extra money we make from getting our hands on the English Banking System....There , That should get him going again.

Further update, Unsecured creditors have been left with debt of £22m. Figure is well above original estimates of £12m.

On the ten months to October looks like they made a loss of more than £15m on turnover of just under £124m well down on the £208m it reported in the prior year.

Well it looks like this is finally being laid to rest.

Deloitte & Touche has dispersed all remains of DTR. A buyer could not be found for the companies summit peripherals division. Only the brand name was available and no one wanted that. Portable add ons and Data connectivity were both sold last year.

There building looks very dusty and lonely now..

Datrontech co-founder Ian Boyle has teamed up with two former directors of the company to buy Portable Add Ons from the receivers for £400,000.

The rest of team include Portable Add Ons MD Steve Muttram, and former Datrontech FD Steve Antrim and the deal was transacted through a small telecoms company called Liberty Communications.

The trio are also talking to receiver Touche Deloitte about buying the assets of the rest of the company - in other words the £6-7m worth of stock, rather than the debts.
