Outside the industry words like: blow off stage/ top of the market/ bad risk reward may not mean much to certain folks. Mr market will teach them a lesson nevertheless. And learn they will!

PS. He also believes wider markets have zero impact on certain stocks. Bezos himself will disagree with this one but hey it's a free country innit.

To newbies:Promoter in chief (poster before last) picked out one of my mid Jan posts earlier this year. Should be grateful to him as it highlights the good timing of my bearish view on the broader markets (he doesn't get this because otherwise he wouldn't post it today). Markets topped two weeks after that mid Jan post of mine and today we are fast approaching levels seen way below that. Listen to reason folks not decade old bulls at the top of the market!GLA

Target? That would imply Tongo had half a brain. He's a candle in the wind, reflecting market sentiment.

Good points snorkel.

I still think you have left out a major, major risk factor and that is the probability attached to a decade long bull market (in DTG and stocks at large) to continue untroubled going forward.

Why is this relevant?

A bear market sinks all boats (fact not fiction) and we are much much nearer the top then bottom of the market. Surprised all future projections given on this board leave out this fact as if the broader context has no relevance on what is a ... travel business.

In other words, DTG may indeed one day reach £10 or above but chances that it reaches down much lower before it does so increases dramatically with each day this tired bull market in equities marches to fresh highs

I agree that only a meaningful (and a very big one at that) surprise (over existing expectations) can propel the share price higher.

Absent that, one can’t see how why DTG should charge higher from here. Worth bearing in mind it’s two years DTG has not advanced an inch (even in the face of improving trading ops since).

And this has always been my point: expectations are already sky high and the business needs to play catch up constantly with them if the share price is to reflect that.

8.02.18 Closing at the 2 month low - exciting times in the days and weeks ahead (great story though)

To newbies of this board: the religious high orders of DTG online support club get easily irritated by anything which does not fit with their view (like cash in the bank has outperformed this company for about two years now).

Some of them are simply bulls in a bull market happy to ride the train all the way back. Bless them all!

THERE WAS A FEW MONTHS AS DART WENT TO A TENNER Tong went missing!

It was said at the AGM and I agree that the EU cannot afford to loose 30 odd Billion a year in tourism”

Absolute BS - that’s Boris Johnson speak.

DTG will very surely face gravity much sooner than “funny-mentalists” of this board expect.

Bring it on!

Jet2 losses as a percentage (11%) of rev for the 2nd half, they are nearly 4x higher than Tui at 2.93% loss of rev in their 1st half which spans the winter months.
If could improve that then would be very positive.

CF, what's you thoughts on losses per share in the back 6 months ?
Soon see if the new bases are just as seasonal as the northern bases or are they picking up more winter traffic to offset the losses.
More expensive aircraft sitting idle is a worry, but more economical so upside there.

40% ahead puts first half eps at 1.64, if they follow last years losses at -0.42eps with a similar quantum of loss that we had from 2017 to 2018 second half of 15% increase in losses which equates to back half loss of -0.483 eps then we are on the 1.157 eps ..now that would be happy days

Short term (as in the next few days) both DTG and wider markets are due for a meaningful bounce. Stocks are really, really oversold at the moment. The quality of the bounce will tell us a lot re your question on whether this is a cyclical downswing or smth more serious. Personally my money is on the latter as I wrote a few days back in here (China 3000 and Eurostoxx 50 been down for most of 2018 with only US markets defying gravity- until early this month) but I always keep an open mind because ego is fatal in this game.

Yep a rather unpleasent sell of on the back of fridays drop in the US markets..You may be right Tong, but I think going short would be bolder than long.. Hoping for some break of the brexit impase leading up to earnings announce ment.. Is this a bear market, correction or the start of a trading range, the problem is who really knows. Feels simular to early 2016, doom and gloom and a sharp drop in prices ..few months latter back up plus..

5 losing weeks on the trot. Very unusual occurrence for DTG. Last time it happened was H1 2016. Subsequent price collapse then stood at about 40%. One before that was 2008 - well ... that was far worse.Moral: next update better be much, much better than the last one (whose effect is almost completely cancelled out price wise) otherwise history dictates far less glorious times ahead.

Gatwick? Picking up Cobalt's slots. There would be marketing economies of scale as Jet2 already adorns so many London buses.
