The problem for TCG in the nordics is they make good money selling booze on booze cruises! That is considerably higher margin than holidays.

So the weakness is not in the UK but in the Nordics and Continental Europe. Trade in the UK actually seems positive, shows why it is important to delve deeper than headlines!

This from the TCG statement:

Winter 2018/19
Our Group Tour Operator programme is 43% sold for Winter 2018/19, with bookings 2% behind last year and average selling prices up 1%. The UK has made a good start with demand ahead of last year, but this has been offset by a slow start in the Nordics and Continental Europe which are experiencing some knock-on impact from the hot summer weather. This has led us to proactively trim capacity in the Nordics by 5%.

The positive booking trends for the Group Airline have continued into winter, with double-digit growth in bookings to short and medium-haul destinations, and good growth in long haul.

I think the return on capital provided in the analysis is low because the large amount of cash on the balance sheet is not deducted from the capital employed figure. Probably ought to make some adjustments for operating leases as well.

highlights a few anxieties but generally very positive. return on capital low at 10%. fixed costs high so we need to keep having good years with lots of bums om seats!!

weirdly I passed through Leeds Thursday and Friday this week.

I have a new target and that is we will have a fleet in excess of 150 frames flying by summer 2021 just 2 seasons away.
I base this on the expansion announced for summer 19 to over 100.
The staff tell me they have never had so many full flights as recorded this summer.
So First half load factor I am going for a further increase.
Seriously Faro looked like a UK base and the number of staff are far in excess of TUI and TCG.
I AM going for a massive 20% increase in Holidays for the next 4 years.
3 million this year going to 3.6 then 4.2 and 5.00 and then the magic 50% ( of uk package holidays) 6 million.

We are all very lucky to be in this Gem of a company.

The best thing about Dart is the due diligence process consists of tracking Tiger's flight experiences. More posts like this the better imo!

latest ad campaign in London seems to be focussing on flight only at stanstead. RYA's 20% op margins look v attractive.

All of those at our friends house in Quinta. Weather stunning.
More friends joined today on 1 of the three flights from manc. Again a full no spaces 757 on the early flight.

Flew on the problem Titan to faro this morning. Not a single spare seat.
Left on time and landed early in Faro.
Faro full of jet 2 frames.
Excellent service again.
Now it 28c and snooze time

Bought some more today, l do wonder why Ryan, OTB, Saga TCG are all up and DTG is down but who knows with markets..

I noticed this morning they dropped the £100pp discount on jet2 holidays , that has been running all year , I wonder why ?and if they will bring it back on select times of year , it's probably increased a family of four holiday maybe on average 20%

I'm also expecting seasonal losses to fall as the SE is more year and that you should help earnings growth; in addition to the new capacity.
