25/2/2006 14:26 | As I stated, this stock offered good value. I managed to pick up a pile at around the 630p level and intend to hold for a little longer. A bounce was inevitable at some point. | selftaught
24/2/2006 19:53 | Looks like you both chose the right day for it Congratulations | call-logger
23/2/2006 14:57 | I am a value investor - have been for over 20 years now - and this one now appears to offer reasonable value. I have made a killing in other stocks recently, including Matalan. I think now could be the time to top up on DMGT. | selftaught

17/2/2006 08:04 | Looks like they agreed with you LONDON (AFX) - Daily Mail and General Trust PLC said it will retain its regional newspaper division, Northcliffe Newspapers Group Ltd, following a strategic review. The company said it identified further significant cost and revenue opportunities at the division and that these are being implemented. It added that its confidence in the prospects for Northcliffe has risen. The group received three offers for Northcliffe on Feb 8, as well as proposals to acquire parts of the business, but these failed to fully reflect the long-term value of the business, it said | call-logger
07/12/2005 11:18 | lol cl, it is a bit patchy in here. I agree that dmgt has not risen in accordance with the ftse. I did note that the last high in the last 3 years was Feb 2005 when in touched 764. Now we are close to that on the news that they are selling the 'crown jewels'. I don't see how they will replace this lost income with only 20% of the sale going to reinvestment. To me it short-sighted and misdirected. How are they going to replace the income? | daveirich
07/12/2005 02:49 | To add a bit of cut and thrust debate on what is probably the deadest thread on ADVFN, I'll disagree I think the correction was in the rise on results day - it's been languishing in the doldrums all bloody year and the results showed that was unjustified | call-logger
06/12/2005 23:06 | Due for a correction imo. Ex dividend tomorrow, selling most profitable part of the company. | daveirich
16/8/2005 11:54 | That's a bit more like it | call-logger
01/8/2005 08:10 | I think the share price at the moment is driven by sentiment on how well advertising take-up is doing. Your guess'll be better than mine on when that becomes less gloomy | call-logger
28/7/2005 12:41 | Seems to be on a long slow downward spiral. Anyone got an inkling why? and is it likely to bounce back in near future. Clairvoyants and mystics can reply | lunanlodge
08/5/2005 20:31 | read marketing manager has 20million of deals up his sleeve and is holding back on releasing this news look at the directors they seem to be buying even at market prices | markcokeanderson
02/1/2004 13:28 | Richarjl Not gloating, but I guess this wasn't the most successful short you've ever made. Just wondered if it is still showing the same signals that led you to short it last month | call-logger
28/11/2003 08:24 | I see what you mean Richarjl Results were OK considering the advertising revenue is still yet to pick up I think a more sustainable rise is on the cards once there are positive signs that advertisers are booking again Whether it will drop down to the levels you're looking for in the meantime, well I'll leave that to you | call-logger
27/11/2003 16:38 | I went through all the ft-100 stocks as I do every week and this one stuck out as a short at about £615. I placed this trade today and we will have to see how it goes. I have placed a tight atop at £631. It seems to be in a broadening chart pattern which could be interpreted as bearish. It does not seem to be able to break out of this pattern at £615 and above. It seems to have moved a bit to fast over the last few days. The news out today also had a negative reaction. Maybe this is further confirmation that the price will move lower. I have set an initial target of £575 on this trade. I often use momentum indicators in non trending patterns, something I feel DMGT is in at the moment. All the indicators are signalling an overbought condition. It will be interesting to see how this palys out. There is a chance that the price may be about to break out form this range though on the upside. I'll watch this one closely. | richarjl
26/11/2003 12:48 | Well, what I know is that the results are out tomorrow and the stock has risen around 10% in this last week's run up. Encouraging... | call-logger
