None of the suitors have gone away and last week's Eni find they reckon around 2 Tcf of it is in Block 1, more gas all the time. I sold mine but am oddly tempted to buy at this price, the pr for east africa is getting madder all the time, first ever oil discovery in kenya last week, at least another five kenya wells this year, more finds in tanzania too although obviously cove doesn't have anything there but it just adds to the gloss of east africa for companies with money. Intersting times.

This board has gone very quiet, however none of the suitors have gone away.

The above link shows that PTTEP are still in the ball game

Are the Indians there with Videocon ??

There has been nothing but good news on the exploration front since bidding began

We must be coming around the last bend

Seems very quiet here following the after-hours announcement from ONGC/GAIL:

During the course of 22 March and 23 March certain media outlets published comments surrounding GAIL (India) Limited ("GAIL") and ONGC Videsh Limited ("OVL") and the possible offer for Cove. Those comments were incorrectly attributed to people working at or with GAIL and/or OVL and suggested that OVL and GAIL did not intend to make an offer for Cove.

At the request of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers, GAIL and OVL are today confirming that they are still evaluating a possible offer for Cove.

This seems to be slotting into place as I have previously posted.
What is to say that Videocon is not already negotiating with ONGC etc
and as and when Cove reach a settled point in the sale an approach is made for the Indians to offer to take out both parties at a price established by Videocon.
The proportion that the combined assets of Cove and Videocon bring to the table is a very interesting and more attractive play combined with the pre emption rights and the thought that Anadarko were prepared to scale down their holding.

Seems to be some logic there, but would Shell and others stand back and not try and put up a fight......Much more to potentially come here.
Meantime drilling goes on proving up the VAST reserves that are there AND the OIL potential at the south end of the Block

Hi Benny -- Thank you for a great post
Between Anadarko/Cove, ENI and Aminex, there should be information flowing(and maybe oil) every few weeks.

SueYou....you, my friend, are filtered - everyone on here knows AEX - there is no need for a self-important clown like you to tell us about AEX.

Thanks for comment RUS..I cannot believe that Shell or another major are going to let this out of their grasp...Who is talking to Videocon ????
There must be a bigger play going on here !!!If you look at Videocon offer supposedly rejected !!!Cove would be £3.20 plus !!!
The tax issue will get sorted I am sure if a major player commits to the Government.. This will move up dramatically if Aminex do find something !!!!
Aminex well is very relevant in the overall situation.
There are definite signs of a much bigger transaction going on behind the scenes.
So RUS I believe £3 is achieveable and more.

Hi Folks I started in Cove at 20p and I have bought up to 2.10(unfortunately I bought small at 20p)
The quality of the postings has deteriorated
We need people of the quality of UTRECT , Peter ANTHONY and BENNY 62 to assist us in making future decisions
I think that the share price should be at least £3 and that the sale should be deferred until the autumn
I took a big risk investing in Cove and there is no reason that I should not get a good return ( I have had a lot of bad ones)
