all ime doing is preparing myself for the worst,in saying that i also believe there is a small chance to resolve the situation, but its going to cost someone a bucket full of cash if they do an equity swap then just put these in the bottom draw till 2020!!!

Well there must be a chance or they wouldnt have bothered suspending trading it would have just gone into administration, the rns says not all parties were in agreement so there must be some hope of being able to negotiate something. It's easy to say it's going bust and it might but it might not. Too many people gloating wanting to say, I told you so, but at the end of the day none of these people sit on the board.

vmr piled in because perhaps they have first refusal on COOL assets if they go belly up?

Yes, what has sorting out the Board and appointing new FD achieved? Also, DT bought a sizable chunk of shares and given another 1m...or was this all window dressing...why bother if things were so bleak and Penumbra not delivering?

As for Penumbra - surely the supplier of the continuous miners has some responsibility??? Have other contingent liabilities become less "contingent"???

Doesn't make sense to me that the Con note holders accepted shares in Dec and Nov if we were going to end up here as they must have known(?)

Why doesn't the company put itself up for sale rather than go to Admin?

I was convinced that Universal Coal was bidding for one of Conti's non-core assets per its binding offer for potential acq on 26 Nov? It was too coincidental- no news on their site about that!

Will we ever know???

If this Co does go , let's hope the Con Note holders get what they deserve- a big fat 0! They in effect stifled the market for Conti by holding the share price down so they could maximise their interest payments- last one being in mid December. No market= no confidence= no funding availability!

Where has VMR been in all this ? Major shareholder and stands to lose money and reputation- poor investment?

I would not beat yourself about any of the past deramping posts. No one who invests money seriously would listen to a bunch of aggressive trolls who chip away day after day bashing companies they do not hold. In the vast majoriy of stocks I have held which they have bashed I have made a great deal of money doing the opposite of what they say. They happen to get one right but they have not really saved anyone from parting with their money. Had they set out their case in a calm, rationale and reasoned manner more people might have listened.

I suppose the lesson here is to research independently as much as possible and heed warning signs when announcements made of positive future developements which do not materialise. No matter the outcome here, listening to derampers will cost you money overall.

c31161,
I wouldn't worry too much about other posters here, some aren't telling the truth and I always find it very strange that some people after selling out at a loss then start to berate and revel in the Company's fate.
I finally sold out a couple of months back, only because I wanted to buy something else and COOL was easily sold at the time. I made some here on the rise a year ago and then lost it throughout the rest of the year.

I am not going to hazard a guess on what the outcome will be, I hope they are able to rescue this, recently SNRP had a similar bad period with a liquidation order, only to find a white knight. Whether there is one here who knows, I hope for the holders there is.

Trout.

Why are these nerds continuing to slate posters and the Company if they have got what they wanted...they really are very SAD! Must have very lonely lives.

As for COOL- unfortunately if it does go down, a big contributor, in my opinion (apart from the manipulation)is the failure of Penumbra to deliver. Had the production been on plan then cash flow and the future would have been a lot brighter. Then, De Wits would have had the faith and proven expertise to support it.

It seems surprising if VMR are walking away from their shareholding (16%) but maybe cutting their losses or hoping to pick up De Wits cheap later as suggested elsewhere. What of the reputation of its rep on the Board? Doesn't leave a good taste to say the least! (VMR share price pretty much unchanged at present).

Queenwood- I thought you suggested last night that things were looking ok- change of heart or just optimism.

Whatever, good luck to those of us who have been genuine investors here (not many of late)!
