dj...agree, but along with a whole raft of financial and business practices we are mere spectators, small investors can only not invest as a protest.
We must remeber that on top of a very generous pay package for the m/cap of the company, Schmidt also gets bonuses even with the share price on the floor.
Bonuses and options making up a good portion of an execs pay is probably not a bad thing, but on top of excessive pay and when the performance of the company is dire then it's a win win situation where they cannot lose, and would probably receive a generous payoff should they leave for any misdemeanor.

fft - thanks for adding the flag counter.

Very early days with this - but as suspected - more watching than posting.

We need much more trasparency on the share options.Who decided on the issuance and what is the performance criteria? Is it for eps to double in two, three or four years? Who on the remueneration committee decides this? What are their links to the directors? When a share price 'performance' has resulted in a decline from over 20p to less than 1p,instead of share options, surely management should be considering substantial pay cuts?
The remueneration committee should have re-set the options at 12.5p again and given them three years to get the options 'in the money'.

ladt week I said, following the AGM statement that these could even double in a week, it now looks like I was suffering from irrational exhurburance!
Still think we have seen the bottom, and I'm not just talking about the morals of the management....

LOL! Gee, I wish I could just erase the past and make my average buy price 1p instead of the 15.5p it is!

ps... can just hear 'that conversation' now ,,,,, "we'd better get the AGM out of the way first, so that those angry people (aka our owners) will have calmed down by the next time we have to face them"

if at first you don't succeed, lower the bar by a tad over 90%! that should do it......important note, this does NOT apply to people who paid real money to buy their shares at the 12p level (or above). those unfortunate people will simply have to tough it out in this reel world.

About 10 people at the Agm but half were analysts i think.

Thanks for that. - How many were at the AGM?

r/e the debt issue - important to remember that this (in most cases) is a debt funded business model. Buy the new content on debt and use the stream of resulting cash flows over the years to pay it back with the excess cash generating shareholder value.

Clearly the company needed to reduce the total debt level - but it does not need to nor should it be expected to eliminate it completely.

It was not gloomy, then again we were not firing partypoppers all over the place either, i'm afraid being my first Agm i "bottled" it on the questions, Hashertu was asking so many and seemed to know the business well we all left them to him.
Think the business is sound, interest payments should be reduced next year, just the company has the burden of debt and preference shares to overcome but it seems to be going in the right direction but it's a long term process, 18 mil of debt does not get eliminated overnight but if interest payments get reduced then maybe they can drop 2-3 mil a year from the debt ?

Repricing of director share issues is always a contentious issue but to be fair they haven't issued any new options for several years and plenty of companies do this on an annual basis for directors.

To me the timing of this all points to confirmation of the recent change of sentiment on this thread about the company.

34Simon - greatful for your take on the mood at the AGM - ie gloomy or sense of optimism amongst the BoD and participants?

FFT - did you get a chance to try to install the flag counter on the thread? (my post #253 indicates how - looks to be quite easy to do). Could be very informative.

The mystery of the intention of AGM resolution 6 remains then? Finding it difficult to believe that not a single attendee at the AGM asked what reason they would have for issuing 1/3 additional shares and then giving existing holders the option via a rights issue to effectively avoid dilution by issuing a further 1/3 of the existing shares if I remember correctly.

Maybe if they could try and buy that amount of shares from the MM in the open maket (even if this is illiquid)we my finally get a bit further north.

I would be happy with 2p+ for starters let alone 26p.

Virtually nobody else has bought stock in the last month except for me
so it will be hard for the price to move if nobody is buying and the company
does not issue regular bullish updates.

There is a lot of work to be done but all the company can do is chip away
at the debt.

Thanks hashertu for the updates. As diesel mentions,it's a very positive trading statement.Television, which has been the driver of turnover and profits, has several larger deals currently being negotiated and 'expected to be concluded shortly'.The Digital division also seems to be gaining traction. As regards the pref. shares, they may be a drag on the share price but,in my opinion, they contributed little to the share price implosion.Without trawling through the past, investors were firstly shocked that management were willing to sell for 20p and then, incredibly,Peace Arch couldn't complete the deal.
At the time the prefs were issued,it seemed like a no-brainer,the share price was heading past the 26p price and it had no negative impact.

34, even without the interest reduction, there will be a larger % of debt repayment just be repeating this years numbers, which seems to be at least what they are forcasting. If they only do the same again that will see higher profits and reduced debts, but I'm expecting a small improvement again on next years numbers.
They do seem to have stabilised the operation without the burden of Allumination around their necks, and they seem to be talking once again about improvements in performance. I think, having had their credibility badly dented they are cautious not to over promise.
That still leaves them with the thorny problem of the pref shares, maybe the answer or part of it lies in realising the value from the growing operations of Collins av and Phase4.

The potential drop in interest payments could accelerate debt reduction.

Overall more positive than negative, typical price reaction though, guess
when they release figures the stock will do it's usual bounce.
