Statements like that suggest that the Board should be talking to corporate samaritans.

Connemara Mining Company

New Prospecting Licence in Kilkenny

Connemara Mining (AIM: CON), the diversified exploration company with licences in zinc/lead and gold exploration across Ireland, is delighted to announce that it has recently been awarded Prospecting License 3313 in County Kilkenny.

The new license is located to the north east of the Vedanta, Lisheen and Lundin, Galmoy Mines and to the south of the Rapla mineralized zone explored by Arcon and Lundin. The license covers almost 50 sq km, with previous drilling restricted to the north-west corner. The base metal target hosting Waulsortian Limestone horizon deepens to the south east. Vedanta hold licenses both to south and north of the block.

John Teeling, Chairman, commented:

"We are delighted to have been awarded the 50 sq km PL3313 licence in Kilkenny. This part of Ireland, which contains the giant Lisheen zinc mine and closed Galmoy mine, has always been rich in zinc. Our previous drilling has been focused on the north west of the block and we have potential targets to the south east.

"We are excited that the zinc industry is finally coming back to life with a supply deficit, which is likely to continue for some years. This licence adds to the high quality portfolio of licences across Ireland held by Connemara."

Glencore have indeed pulled all drilling rigs from the site. Ahead of planning application? Who knows? But at 42m and growing....

Info on Pallasgreen/Glencore

They have shut down their Canadian zinc team, let everyone from Xstrata and Noranda Zinc go, and suspended exploration on their largest zinc exploration /development project in Canada ( Hackett's River).

However, the last I heard they were still "positive" about Pallas Green, at about 40 million tonnes, and moving it through the " Six Sigma gates"
towards a Scoping Study.

I also heard they have started some community engagement , but that is a requirement of the Six Sigma process.

They are probably doing a scoping study to see if they have a project, but I hear that Glencore is not pushing to build any new projects anywhere.

What a "silly billy" JT is. One day he will learn.... hopefully not too far off.

You should have heard what he actually said. But for the moment it is for me to know and you to guess.

Except on one point. In the accounts it is said that the directors will defer monies due to them for at least a year. JT said that didn't apply if they took shares. Methinks the Companies Acts say otherwise so just let him try here or in the other companies where the 162Group Partners who "control" these companies (aka Teeling and his 2 sons, Finn and Horgan) have said the same stuff. Silly Billies!

The choice of the word "outfit" is about as derogatory as it gets!

from the Irish Times :

Meanwhile, a measly two independent shareholders showed up yesterday at the agm of another Teeling outfit, Connemara Mining. "And one of them turns up at every agm in town," laughed Teeling.

Caveat

I voted against every one of them, that is why the word unanimously is missing!
I asked for a poll on one but got no support.

Interesting disclosures by Teeling et al.

And yes there were sandwiches!

Highlights of the Chairman's Statement to the AGM of

Connemara Mining Plc held In Dublin at 11am Thursday 17(th) July 2014.

Connemara, the Irish based zinc and gold explorer held its annual general meeting today and at the meeting the Chairman, John Teeling, made the following remarks:

1. After years in the doldrums there are signs that our exploration sector can look forward to better times - the zinc price is rising, the gold price is stable, $20 million has been raised by Dalradian for gold exploration in Northern Ireland and there is some interest in our assets.

2. Limerick Zinc - Our partner continues a programme of limited geophysical and lithogeochemical testing, on this drill ready block

3. Oldcastle in Meath - Our partner, who is operator and spending all of the money is reviewing extensive geological, geophysical and geochemical data with the aim of focussing the drill targeting program.

4. Wexford/Wicklow Gold - Our partner, Hendrick Resources, is currently undertaking a detailed soil and rock sampling program in a zone with interesting recent gold results.

5. Donegal Gold - the initial exploration results showed some encouraging geochemical zones associated with our new structural/geological model for this underexplored area. Similarites can be drawn to the Dalradian Curraghinalt structural/geological zone.

6. Other Zinc Licences - We have extended our Thurles Licences to 2016 and have been awarded a new licence in Kilkenny, close to the Rapla mineralised zone - recently awarded to Vedanta.

All resolutions put to the meeting were duly passed.

"major perosnality clash between reportable shareholders" counts for little - abject failure as a quoted company counts for a lot more.
