Last trading statement seemed OK. Only worry is care and education, the new segments.

Long term decline in paper books and newspapers/mags is just a continuing story, unless the world cup has glossed over a bigger drop; but the TS seems to say no to that.

Anyhow, cheap and a good yield at present.

I think 240p is closer to fair value personally.

I guess it depends how you view Smith's, um, Connect's future distribution business prospects.

Connect is the new name for Smiths News (NWS). The new name underscores the shift from news wholesaler to a larger and broader based specialist distributor. The key parts of the business are:
News Wholesale & Media: the old business, slowly declining in the e-age, but in rude health with the major distribution deals stretching to 2019 and beyond. Also includes the added media businesses from the takeover of competitor Dawson News,
Books: Includes a digital and academic books business and Wordery, an online bookshop.
Education & Care: Uses the distribution expertise and infrastructure to supply schools, and includes 'The Consortium' and 'West Mercia Supplies' brands.

Current yield at a share price around 265p is 5.7%, and the company has a stated progressive dividend policy.
