Well the only reason these never went up today was cos there was a seller of 200K. That 10K protected trade was mine at the close, it's all I could get @ 7.5p.

Worth taking a look at the past results imo.

£3.7m loss last year reduced to £0.76m in H1 to virtually illiminated in H2 and now profitable in the first two months of this year.

New FD, directors buying.

That's a good turnaround sitiuation imo. Reckon these will be on the way up soon, if I could only get 10K there can't be much stock about imo.

Well, looks as if we still have a few shares, that can be bought. The next few days is, in my view the time to buy. The stock will be very hard to get hold of in months to come, and then the MM will make you pay way over the odds. I bought at 5p the [same price as the directors] and will plough back in for more at those levels. We have been told today ,in black and white, profit is on the way, so the risk has been reduced. We can not stop a seller, but most here may feel pig sick, if they wait to long, see it move up, only to find they can not get stock.

yes you may be right.suppose the main plus is the company is moving in the right direction profitwise which should be reflected in the share price in time.question is.how much time.

I suppose the price rise on Wednesday was just the mm's forcing the best prices on a spike in speculative demand despite there being a overhang. Today we're back with the reality of that overhang. Just supposition.

manrobert, have a look at NGL, big director buys, and pick-up in volume.

CR et al

This is an area I'm familiar with - I do drainage design for a living and therfore no manufacturers etc.

There is a lot of competition in this area - I know many competitors in this marketplace

Hydroserve will have competitors from pump manufacturers like Flygt and Pims

They also have to break into a market where the end user is difficult to convince of change (the 'why should we' brigade) - it also has to compete in a cheapest gets in market.

HRD have a market which others did not compete in - they are now getting competition (cheaper alternatives)

It may take a while to establish and expand - hopefully the management team are focused

The flooding issue has come into focus in the last 6months due to legislation and a push for retention of flow on site. A market for condercell and the tanks that they will need to force their way forward.

And before anyone suggests it - If I do specify conder products it can be changed for an alternative by the client if he wishes.

HYD Market Cap £28.77m

CDE Market Cap £4.22m

Yup - and there is reason for that! ;0)

HYD= an investment with a track record
CDE= a punt on them maintaining profitability

CDE had needed for a long time to sell off Vikoma. It tended to have a boom-bust cyclical effect on the results meaning that the company was swinging from loss to profit and back again. They had problems with the membranes on their tanks with their main supplier going bust. Perhaps the past really is now behind?

CR - Hydroserve was, from memory, the part of the business dealing with drains, services etc. and therefore the part that would have stood to gain from the flooding. But I'll check.

Best to top up now before wider market digests.

Spread is only that wide at the moment because of 3 mm's and where they stand - - call your broker iff you're buying and make an offer within the spread - say 7.7p - you might find that moves the bid up too so you're effective spread is far less. Hard to buy when everyone else is buying - as I found out this week!

15% spread and dodgy past will put people off here..

Better plays on flooding such as HYD available IMO -without the spread or the past

These must be getting a stack of business after all this flooding imo - I bet they are inundated with enquiries from local authorities.

Now we know why directors were buying recently - reckon these have a chance of getting bact to their previous 20p in the next 6 months.
