02/2/2010 13:54 | plus, an interesting point is an investment vehicle associated to Richard Worthington has NOT accepted the offer!! | cool runnings
02/2/2010 13:52 | Carwhite, I don't want to act as thread administrator but you seem to be winding up Cool Runnings when he has stated, quite openly, his position on COH. Do you have anything constructive to add to this debate? If you do, I would be interested to get back to my original point, which is about whether or not the takeover is a good thing for the company or if shareholders are always going to act in short-term self interest, and I don't mean that in the pejorative sense. The directors don't come out of the takeover very well, so we have to ask why would they "recommend" the offer? | plus_ca_change
02/2/2010 12:21 | go back and red you persistent ramping all of which course are illegal...no wonder you are crying now and name calling....a childish stance that you started. | carwhite
02/2/2010 12:13 | C/Runnings, I understand where you're coming from and your position. Hopefully you will be able to recover your loss. In terms of the COH position, there are likely to be others sniffing around given that Whitbread's offer has effectively been rejected. If COH remain independent then they do have the opportunity to build up their estate and become a fairly major player. 350 stores is their target, which is in all the annual reports, so at 90 they have a long way to go. | plus_ca_change
02/2/2010 11:57 | Plus, anonymity is irrelevant carwhite has continually had sneaky digs and I have had enough, I held my hands up as I made a total hash of this stock and have been left with a significant holding and a great loss. I am now in the process of trying to get a greater price for my holding (matters I will not discuss) and the silly trollop continues to whine and post inconsistent stories. To be honest I really don't care if I have to settle for 24p then at least it draws a line under this sage, however there is a good chance that with my holding and that off associated parties I may be able to get a better price, all I have said is watch this space! | cool runnings
02/2/2010 11:47 | How pathetic all this name-calling is; I raise a perfectly reasonable question about the possible take-over of a growing business by a multinational company whose offer has been rejected and what do we get? Name-calling that my 5- and 7-year-olds would be told off for! Of course, I doubt anyone would be half as brave if they didn't have the comfort blanket of total anonymity. If no-one has anything useful to contribute I suggest you find a more appropriate forum to vent your frustrations. | plus_ca_change
02/2/2010 11:35 | whatever you dont eat off my table | carwhite
02/2/2010 08:10 | None of us did. Its CALLED PUSHING THE ODDS TO ONE'S FAVOUR, AS IN A BIRD IN HAND ETC. IF THE OFFER DOES NOT FLY, YOU WILL BE BACK TO A CASH STRAPPED COH AND THE PRICE WILL FALL...Q.E.D. AS I RECALL YOU WERE PUMPING AN OFFER OVER 50P LAST YEAR...AND BOUGHT YOUR OWN LIE....NOW YOUR STUCK1 | carwhite
01/2/2010 21:04 | The whole point is you didn't know how long it would stay for, they could have quite easily walked away today and the price be significantly lower!! That is the risk in these arbitrage situations!! So please don't speak to me about not understanding the game I play, assure you I know a far greater deal then some thick troll!. Now be a good girl and go away! | cool runnings
01/2/2010 20:33 | lololol, as said 24p is on the table and will stay there for a while, Its a pity you obviously don't know the game that you play. | carwhite
01/2/2010 18:05 | Carwhite, you talk as though you wanted no risk yet you were willing to run a position in coh over the weekend , where quite easily Whitbread could have walked away if they wanted!!?? So why lie and make out you sold the shares, it is not consistent with your continual waffle about selling as the stock is over priced!! Pathetic!! | cool runnings
01/2/2010 17:34 | Carwhite is in fantasy land. I'm betting he/she sold 10,000 shares some ago. | coffee911
01/2/2010 16:57 | READ THE POSTS YOU SILLY MAN. I SOLD MY 300K A WHILE BACK! HUBBY SOLD SOME OF HIS TODAY... 400K OBVIOUSLY WE ARE NOT IN YOUR LEAGUE | carwhite
01/2/2010 14:04 | I certainly agree that there is no need for foul language and that we should focus on the matter in hand. Now, COH -- where are they headed? | plus_ca_change
01/2/2010 13:40 | It has and very much so when you resort to filthy foul language...very much so indeed. If cool runnings crawled back to the gutter from whence it obviously came from, then this place will be much cleaner and more fluent on the real subject matter.. | carwhite
01/2/2010 13:14 | I'm sure that one's upbringing has absolutely nothing to with the subject matter here, so let's leave personal feelings out of the chat rooms, shall we? Has anyone thought that COH would be far better off as an indie -- perhaps the reason for the low take-up in the offer? Either way, the shareholders have hardly bitten CostaBread's hand off, so to speak, have they? I look forward to others' perspectives on this. | plus_ca_change
01/2/2010 08:56 | If anyone has seen the latest RNS, you will see that the offer has, in effect, been rejected by the shareholders as they are nowhere near the required number of acceptances for the takeover to go ahead. | plus_ca_change |
