Sorry that should have been 495-500 not 459-500.

The new price looks like good news. The old CSY has had a mid price in the 459-500 range for a while. Yesterday it shot up to 519. Today we have 1 CSY at 109 and 3 CODA at 146 so the old shares are at 547 tonight, almaost back to the value they had before the split was announced. B

Balancer - I have assumed, rightly or wrongly, that the spike is due to a sole active market maker posting a high (off-market) price between mm closure at 4.30pm and the UT closure time a few minutes later. (Perhaps the mm had even signed off early on this quiet stock!) This is picked up by the advfn software in the absence of any AT/UT trades for the day and put into their system. Competitors' systems do not show the abberation. However, someone else may have a better theory. I also note that the market seems to take a dim view of the unexpected departure of the prospective FD.

Happens on a few other stocks as well I've noticed, though not to the same extent.

The price spikes look very stange. I noticed the price seemed to suddenly change, usually late in the day, with no dealings. The funny price was listed as the closing figure and next day it would open at a normal price showing a huge change. The newspapers showed the normal closing price. I have not asked ADFN if this is a problem with their data. B

The advfn version of the 1-year chart is enough to make ones hair stand on end. Other sources show a quite normal chart without the spurious spikes. Does anyone know the cause?

Mikeyw No idea. The AGM annoucment, due 25th May, usually stirs things up a bit but activity is already high, for CSY. The recent takeover of SUG (Systems Union ownner of SUN Accounts and Pegasus accounting systems) should be having an impact. My info from friends who deal with CSY is that the company says it is doing well and the first quarter of 2006 is on target and better than 2005. B

This board has gone very quiet again though the CSY share price keeps going up. Back last August I posted that the number of bargains a year had increased from under 500 to over 1,000 in three years. The increased activity has continued. For the whole of April the annual total of bargains was over 1,250 and is has now been above 1,300 for two weeks. Also there have been nearly 750 in the first four months of 2006. There seems to be a very good increase in activity, even without much news from the company. B

Very quiet here - thought I might find a few happy punters. My problem is just that I didn't get enough of them when they were under 400. Compared with most AIM stocks this is quality and well worth sitting on for a few years imho.

Results out today look very good. Profits up in all divisions, good cash flow and dividend up a lot. It looks like this share really justifies our belief in it. Friends tell me that 2006 is off to a good start. I expect good news at the agm in a couple of months. B

After a quick rise to over £5 csy seems to have attracted a lot of small sales. Not suprising really, it is well over double the price of only 3 years ago. Prospects still look good and I think it will soon be back above £5. It will be nice to see the results for 2005 and then the Chairman's statement at the agm, though I suppose that will be in May. B

Small Company Sharewatch - an excellent tipsheet with some fantastic returns. Well worth the £99 for a yearly subscription. http://www.scsw.co.uk/ The February issue summarised its comments on CSY saying that: Teather's target is for £10.7m (eps 31.9p) this year with the broker observing that "for the first time in a while management are genuinely buoyed by prospects for the future." Keep buying.

I see no response here to the good trading update on 16th. However, it has reinvigorated the share price which looks poised to attack the £5 mark before long if the market continues good. Now wish I had taken a bigger stake when they were around 360p in mid 2005.

Mikeyw, Nothing new. The last I heard they were happy about 2005 and were booking orders for 2006. It looks like the investor relations people have given up making announcements to keep shareholders happy. There is still nothing about good news I heard back in November. The recent announcement about buying their distributors in Germany and Hungary had a bigger impact than I expected, it does not do that much for the results in the next couple of years. Maybe this shows how many people are just waiting for some good news before they buy. The next thing out should be a trading update in a few weeks. Balancer

I talk to some people who use the CODA software and occasionally they tell me about presentations by the company. I understand that both Coda systems, Financials and Dream have won the award more than once in the last few years and have been shortlisted about every time they have entered. Still no confirmation about the Bank of England order, I understand that a presentation talked of this as a done deal and had them on a list of new customers. It also seems that the European and US offices are doing well this year. B

Balancer - who's your contact ? Yes CODA-Financials won the Accountancy Age award for best enterprise software. This makes it CODA's 5th award in five years. Anything else you want confirming ?
