in the absence of news.

Once the closed period is at an end - news?

I sold a few recently from last placing (2.5p).. only to lock in some profit, nothing sinister at all, just think after a good run from xmas, aim oilers gone a bit soft in general, so want a bit of cash..

Potential why on earth would there be a placing. This is from the placing RNS in Nov and I don't think Algy is one for lying:-

Use of Proceeds
The Directors expect that the Placing and Subscription will fund the Company through to Q4 2017 and the net proceeds will enable the Company to work towards its stated core strategic aims of:

If there was a placing it would be for an acquisition which I could only see as value enhancing.

I think it more likely we have a seller or gap to fill. Whatever it is given the assets this is cheap.

Mkt makers are just that, essentially looking for a share price where they can make a two way trade, otherwise stagnation.

Probably selling around mkt size to be able to have enough stock to fill 1.25m order. Plus depends if your broker can go to mkt makers and negotiate.
