17/8/2007 13:03 | On the move again. Down about 3% today. Technically it could get tentative support at 550. Fundamentally :( | mickconn11
03/8/2007 08:52 | Seems to be finding some support here, so have now closed my short. I think these could fall further, but rather than being greedy, I'll settle for 135 points in three days. Good luck all. | madmix
02/8/2007 15:23 | Digital Look shows them as putting out a buy rec, but message 342 above would seem to contradict that somewhat! | madmix
02/8/2007 15:21 | According to Selftrade, NAV is around £1 per share. Not sure I'd always trust their figures though, so probably worth a look at the balance sheet. I don't think NAV is particularly useful though, this is rated as a growth share rather than a value share, and despite being bearish here, I can't see it falling as low a £1 ! | madmix
02/8/2007 15:19 | just seen that citi put out a buy rec yesterday at 681p. that was good timing after downgrading it last year to hold when it was 494p | motoben
02/8/2007 15:13 | i wonder at what level people will start to buy back in again, my guess would be about £5, those institutions must be hurting now and may be forced to sell some and people on margin. bp still has the option to aquire a large chunk of the company and at those lower levels could think more about it as they like green energy a lot at the moment. anyone know what the nav is for this one as they own a lot of leases for farms and projects? | motoben
02/8/2007 15:06 | Digital Look have a consensus forecast of 18.6p to the end of 2008, which would put them on a forward PE of 34 at 632p. This is still very racy IMHO for a company putting out disappointing newsflow of late. I think something closer to a forward PE of 25 is more than enough, suggesting around 465p as a more sensible rating (not that I would buy them at that level). Will keep my short running for the forseeable future. | madmix
02/8/2007 14:43 | Neither do I. | mickconn11
02/8/2007 14:15 | Still worth nearly £700m? I don't think so. | scburbs
02/8/2007 10:17 | Chart says keep selling. 645-650 as I write and there was no attempt to hold it at the 200 day MA. | mickconn11
01/8/2007 09:56 | Added to my short position first thing. Fall to £5 on the cards? | scburbs
01/8/2007 07:00 | Citigroup has downgraded Clipper Windpower PLC to 'sell' from 'buy' with a cut in target price to 625 pence from 1,080 pence after its disappointing trading update yesterday, market sources said. In a note published this morning, Citigroup said that the Clipper Windpower trading statement was disappointing with unit manufacturing guidance declining to 181 from 250. The broker added that it now expects a loss for Clipper Windpower in 2007 and has cut its 2008 and 2009 earnings per share forecasts by 16 pct and 36 pct, respectively. Hmm, I wonder if they'll even hit those 181. Their track record for hitting numbers isn't good. | typo56
31/7/2007 20:52 | I should have shorted this growler. They can't even make a profit and loot at that valuation! I posted earlier a fall to 600p. In fact I think it will go lower | sensei10
31/7/2007 08:33 | if they are struggling to make any profit on all these projects and are having trouble getting supplies, they will need to really pull it together for next year as they have orders for almost double the amount of turbines. i doubted they could ramp it all up this quickly so sold a while ago, glad i did, missed the top my a way but was suprised the big buyers would have continued to buy up to£9 | motoben
31/7/2007 08:27 | Went short again first thing myself. Should have left it running rather than closing out a month ago! | madmix
31/7/2007 08:20 | well done cr on your short | hursheel
31/7/2007 08:03 | "Interim results are expected to reflect a net loss due to initial production and procurement inefficiencies and legacy sales pricing. Clipper expects to recognize non-recurring charges in interim results totaling approximately $25 million, including loss provisions for the company's turn-key construction project sale (40 turbines) and one other construction-related sale contract (20 turbines). Future turbine sales will typically not include construction-related sale contracts of this nature. Clipper expects to recognize revenue on the sale of eight turbines in the first half of 2007 with revenue from the Endeavor project expected to be recognized in the second half of the year." | scburbs
30/7/2007 15:47 | We're now at the level that CM sold. Just added to shorts at 800 in the cash. | mickconn11
10/7/2007 10:44 | Thank you scburbs. I had a feeling I'd read it somewhere but couldn't find it when I searched. Should have looked in the Annual Report. D'oh! If he's no longer a director, why was it necessary to make the holdings announcement? Because he's still regarded as a connected person through his consulting role? | typo56
10/7/2007 10:03 | "It is with great appreciation for his contribution to Clipper's development that I indicate that Colin Moynihan will be standing down as a Director at this year's Annual Meeting. Colin has worked with me for over ten years and has been instrumental to our successful IPO and the negotiations with BP Alternative Energy. We wish him every success in his new appointment as Executive Chairman of Ocean Power Delivery. Colin will continue his relationship with Clipper in a consulting role." | scburbs
10/7/2007 08:58 | Since when has Colin Moynihan been an "ex" executive director? He was described as an executive director in the holdings RNS of 11 April, announcing his sale of 400,000 shares at 650p. Is he still a director and Chairman, Clipper Windpower Europe? If so, wouldn't it have been normal to state that position in today's holdings RNS? If not, why hasn't there been a change of director RNS? | typo56
10/7/2007 08:08 | CM selling. Explains that large block that went through last week. | mickconn11 |
