Contract Win to Build a New Fixed Wireless Network in Norway

Satellite Solutions Worldwide Group plc (AIM: SAT), the global communications company specialising in rural and last-mile broadband, has won a c.GBP0.5m (NOK5.6m) Norwegian Government contract to build a new fixed wireless network in the county of Sør-Trøndelag over the next 15 months.

The network will deliver broadband up to 75Mb and will be exclusively operated and maintained by SSW for the 10-year contract period. The wireless network will offer a range of tariffs across the municipalities of Agdenes, Bjugn, and Midtre-Gauldal in Sør-Trøndelag, where hundreds of households are currently limited to broadband speeds below 4Mb.

The network will be delivered by Breiband, SSW's wholly owned subsidiary in Norway, which has extensive experience in this field having constructed and maintained over 1,500 fixed wireless broadband towers to date.

Andrew Walwyn, CEO at SSW said: "We are delighted to have won this contract to use our state-of-the-art fixed wireless network technology to deliver broadband speeds of up to 75Mb to homes around the city of Trondheim. Our solution will connect these households to uber-fast broadband speeds for the first time, despite their distance from a major telephone exchange and the challenging topography of the area.

"Norway has significant Government funding available for investment in broadband infrastructure each year and we hope to deliver uber-fast fixed wireless broadband to many more Norwegian customers. In addition, we intend to utilise these fixed wireless networks, as a complement to our satellite technologies, across many other European territories in the future."

About SSW

Established in 2008, SSW specialises in the provision of rural and last mile broadband services with customers across 32 countries. SSW's solutions target B2C and B2B users, and the Company has products developed specifically for the broadcasting, Police and Military markets. SSW operates a number of brands such as Europasat (Europe), Breiband (Nordics) and SkyMesh (Australia) and is now the fourth largest independent provider of satellite broadband internet services in the world.

The 2015 listing on the London Stock Exchange together with the support from Business Growth Fund and investors in 2016 have put the Company in an excellent position to continue strong organic growth in its subscriber base and recurring revenues as well as execute on preferred acquisitions. The Directors believe there is a major opportunity to continue this organic growth and as appropriate consider acquisitions throughout the fragmented European satellite broadband market and further afield.

Working closely with satellite owners and operators, SSW targets customers in the 'digital divide' with solutions that deliver up to 30 Mbps satellite based broadband services or fixed wireless to almost any premises, whether residential, commercial or industrial across Europe and Australia, irrespective of location or local infrastructure.
