25/9/2007 20:02 | I think it is different now. The family received a shed load of AGK shares when they separated, and with AGK now over £5 I guess theyhave plenty of cash tied up in the markets and may be keen to salvage something from SVC while they can. Alternatively they may keep their shares but allow someone else to take a controling interest. | jelenko
25/9/2007 17:09 | Approaches from two parties. svc has been in this position before and the talks came to nothing. The family own a lot of the shares and it would appear that they have not been overkeen to sell in the past. | bracke

22/9/2007 08:50 | warranty, as I'm in buying mode, I'm quite happy for the price to hover around the ten bob mark. Bought a lump sum in early August, and will continue buying on a monthly basis. I drove to and from Worcester the other day, funnily enough I could repeat my earlier post, and just change the label of the motorway. I note that the Salvesen share price seems to do (relatively) well when the market takes a nasty turn. Whether this is because it is known as an income play, or is just contrarian, I'm not sure. They still seem very undervaled to me, I remember thinking similar about Next in 1990, when they fell to 20 odd pence........ but I didn't buy. Stupid boy... I'm going to make the time soon to visit a Salvesen depot and speak to the transport manager, they usually have their finger on the button, in terms of good, valued contracts, as well as duff ones that keep the equipment rolling, but will never make a profit. Also want to see if they have long term (ie loyal) employees, or rely mostly on agency drivers/staff. That is absolutely key in this business, always has been. Will post on here any useful info. | damanko
21/9/2007 13:04 | damanko, the vehicles are run by Argos themselves apart from some Argos Direct vehicles run by DHL/Exel. My buying price is 50p so if we get there I'll be in. Don't expect a takeover any time soon though as the other majors have no need of their contracts. May go private but that's about all imho. | warranty
10/8/2007 08:58 | Has anyone got a view on how much the price would rise too if an approach came in? | plasticpaddy
08/8/2007 10:32 | Interesting reading your comments. latest on the pea front is that talks are going on with a Belguim company to sell the frezing and packing facilites and the Tenderfrost frozen food business. | farmsted
01/8/2007 09:07 | farmsted How much of the company's profit comes from the pea crop? | bracke
31/7/2007 15:30 | I expect the company to soon be posting a profit warning as the pea crop this year is going to be 40% below target. Less processing, longer more expencive season, reduced storage and packing revenue. A very expencive year. | farmsted
18/7/2007 16:12 | This is well up today - any rumours or just folks buying for the dividend? | enami
12/7/2007 13:05 | Anyone been to todays AGM? | scotch broth
06/7/2007 11:35 | jdung - Are you referring to a price change after the market closes? Are you taking into account the auction period after the market closes? | bracke
05/7/2007 20:18 | Personally I am looking for a recovery on this stock and may buy in if it happens. Fundamentals are good imo and they have not sold off all the silver, just some of it, unless I am mistaken. | hannabella
05/7/2007 20:09 | why ? at end market trade, price go downside, but no trade. is big holder want to sell? or someone stockbrocker use share price move tools?? | jdung

04/5/2007 10:17 | A client of mine asked me for legal advice on the docs he was sent in relation to one of these scams. Its clearly what is basically a 419 scam; very often they will ask for a fee to remove a restricted securities legend from a US company share cert so they can be traded. Needless to say advice to client was to say no thanks. | buzzaldrinsballs
04/5/2007 09:25 | SCAM WARNING I have heard of this company being a new target. You get a call from a person interested in buying your shares. They claim to be buying for a client in the US who intends to make a hostile bid for the company. You are offered a silly high price for your shares. To clinch the deal you have to send money as proof you will sell them the shares at this very high price. Be warned. NKS | nksharpe
23/4/2007 13:43 | Just a story about Felixstowe docks charging an extra £5 per container.Front page news in Daily Telegraph a few days ago.Margins are thin but----- | scotch broth

12/4/2007 11:33 | CCNP - It seems to me that periodically the share price moves up to approx 80 and then gradually falls back to approx 60 It would be encouraging if this time it carries on beyond 80 but barring a takeover, which is unlikely, it will need some excellent results to achieve an share price continuing beyond 80. | bracke |
