I do have 600 spare to cover and whatever I can make from Ebay, plus shares I bought with cash on TDW. Also my mum may be getting me a loan today.

MM buy just gone through at 23p, so looks like CHUK will come good. Now 22 to 25p. I got this cheaper than anyone today.

These are going back up in price today big time. Now you have to pay the full 23p to get a seat.

JTC - the only guy that never makes a mistake is a guy that does nothing. We all catch a cold somewhere, it's about being right most of the time, which I suspect you are.

You were right to get out today imo - make it up elsewhere in something decent.

your 18% down on your buy tsmith if you sold at the 22 bid.so you need an 18% rise to break even not including costs.so lets say for 10% profit you need the price to rise 28% after a profit warning(depending on the spread) erm good-luck.....

it makes me laugh why do people buy on the day the of a profits warning!.look at smc people moved in at 147 the day of the warning.the stock then moved down to the £1 area people bought again the second profit warning sent the stock into the 40s.the price of a stock usually drifts after a profits warning you can be waiting months or years for a recovery why not put the money in a company that's making profits and going places.risky at these prices and the drift has already started more warnings to come i think is not going to turn around in the next few months is it.sell tsmith

tsmith2 - There is no MBO rumour saying "the MBO rumour" will not give your story legs.

JSP has droppped 20% in the last 2 days. The deadcat bounce didnt last and is like playing one arm bandits. Most people lose because they see a rise and think there is more but in reality the institutions just follow up with massive selling.

Its worse than Jessops. The market is flooded with cheap DVDs and at the end of the day CHUK is one of the most expensive retailers and this is probably why they have seen a slump.

Sorry JT and others, I saw this and it bought a wee smile

Following the warning, Seymour Pierce withdrew its estimates and 'hold'
recommendation, suggesting the company's ticker code (CHUK) may give a good
steer of what to do with the shares.

I bought JSP when they plummeted and have just banked a very nice gain, this has all teh hallmarks of JSP in terms of a bounce and the MBO rumour wil certainly aid this

Theyre doing "an further 5% off".
Shouldnt it be "'a' further 5% off"?

PG tends to be a 'law of averages' guy !
I think that he will either see a bigger opportunity at a much lower market cap and buy a lot more (maybe that's was the new home fot JTC's stock)or he will dispose of his holding altogether in due course.

JT couldn't you have sold in smaller blocks to get a better price?
Poor trading due to a bit of nice weather unfortunately must be only part of the story, though I suppose they are still disposing of unprofitable stores..
Wonder what PG is going to do?
Market cap is incredibly low now, but the debt is the main BIG concern...
Still wondering whether to take a gamble on this one...I've been looking and holding off for the past 6 months or so...

To little to late in dealing with the high st presence and as many have already said questions have to be asked re the timing of the trading statement and the trading update.

It was always a gamble on whether they could get rid off or turn round the shops to allow the potential of the distribution business to flourish and one that appears to have been lost. I would think that the future direction of the share price now lies with PG does he still see some value at these level, will he just hold what he's got or liquidate his position.

I sold nearer 2.75 % of the company.

You may find the mm's had a buyer though.

You always have to pay a premium for a large trade, so it does not mean that the share price has to go to 19. It is however a significant overhang of stock and since CHUK is tightly held that is liable to have a negative impact. ADVFN users have some "privileged information" in this regard since the trade has not shown up on the official list yet.

So if JT bailed at 19p with 1%+ of the company, surely the share price is heading that way.

lol. It's all relative - I think the long-term average for CHUK is 2 or 3 per day.
