jugears: Emmerson will have been fully aware that there low offer for Chloride both previously & recently would not be acceptable to Chld share holders & would almost certainly flush out any other bidders, Hence make a low bid first to see what others offer Imo we will probably see a lot higher bid than we expect.

peaeff: It is very difficult to assess just exactly what has caused this rise in the share price At the time of the last Management Update (Feb) the price was 184p and did, as a matter of fact, fall lower thereafter. I felt that management gave very little away at that point but on the other hand there was nothing untoward with the content of the statement. There has now, since that date, been a virtual 20% increase in share price which, in part could be offset by a 12% rise in the F250 during the same period. Perhaps the other 8% can be argued in the light that CHLD was undervalued anyway. The last time the share price stood at these levels was during the Emmerson offer. So is there any justification in assuming that good news is on the agenda tomorrow or, will a statement, on similar lines to the last one, have a calming effect on the current move north. Statements such as 'in line with management expectations' are all very well if you know for sure just what those 'expectations' are, i.e positive/negative. Good luck all for tomorrow. Regards PF

peaeff: I see Mr Warner is taking a bit of pocket money for his holidays. Probably won't help share price a lot, but may not do it too much harm. However, I don't suppose he would be selling if there was a takeover on the cards.

peaeff: A bid occurred last year when Emmerson were told to go home and press some different keys on the calculator, at around 255p, so that any new bid started with a figure 3. Since that time it has become a bit of a chestnut and, is a regular feature of the more speculative press comments, generally when a rise in share price takes place. The problem is that there is every chance that it will happen at some point, and my guess would be that Emmerson will be seeking the balance between, a positive and accepted upturn in the economies in general prior to CHLD share price climbing to past heights. CHLD does not appear to have taken any backward steps since then, in terms of orders or constant revenue and, the fact that the current management statement was not as bullish as previous ones is very understandable in view of the past 12 months, and the economical outlook in general. Should be held tightly I believe they will return. AIMHO. Regards

bally101: Nice article, I dived in today on a spreadbet at £30 per point so here is hoping for somne positive news soon to lift the share price. I noticed Robbie Burns had a target of £2.20 for this one so plenty of room for movement based on his expectations. Typically it slipped back today the day I put my money on it, but looks a really strong share and just hope the bid rumours are true !

jugears: Yes agree,I think that a bit of patients is due here.Over the next few weeks I think we could see this go north again. I still haven't ruled out a bid from Emmerson now That all the Hipe has gone, However I srongly beleive that long term the share price will exceed any offer that Emmerson could presently make. From experience with this share(twenty odd years)It does seem to stand still when the market goes up & goes up when the market goes down,Seems to be a bit of a safe share when the markets are not very good, could do with The management doing a bit to Improve Chlorides images and pay a better dividend.

peaeff: Lucky Lady Those you are referring to are only PI's the same as us, why should they know any more than us. It is not UNUSUAL for a share price to surprise, with a good set of results, even when others take the view that the good news is already 'factored in'. These are the shares that I tend to search for when trading updates appear. I cannot believe this will be negative tomorrow and I shall certainly be expecting 10-15% on the share price Hoping for a bit more. Regards PF

peaeff: In a rising market and two days before they produce figures which will be excellent would a company's share price be heading south. Since the last spike (due to both rumour and update) the share price has already dropped 20%ish but even allowing for the rumour part I believe 150p is well in play. I am topped up and ready for Thursday all I ask is the DOW behaves and doesn't turn our market into turmoil. I believe there is a tree shake on to soak up some cheap stock. Good Luck all Regards

jugears: I Doubt weather the Economy will have to much effect on Chloride ,And although We may still see the share price fall due to current vollatility I have no doubt that within eighteen months the share price will recover as will all the other shares. Investing is for the long term. For me the current low price of shares is a dream come true,& an oppertunity I have been waiting for since the last ressesion,When I bought Chloride for about 18p pershare,Next/asda/burtons etc for Around 50p per share. From experience share prices will not stay at these prices to long, institutions need to make money for investors.
