26/8/2009 17:47 | Two very nice buys of over 97k after hours,i have the feeling we are about due for a nice rise, something is afoot... Pugugly they are not my words... | s_e
24/8/2009 14:08 | s-e> I agree with your comments BUT I think you have made my usual mistake re currency. A stronger $ makes Chlore less expensive in purchase terms to Emerson. However sterling profits become less valuable in $ terms. Do you agree? | pugugly
23/8/2009 18:42 | Interesting article copy from cakeslicer on iii... Interesting article posted by IC, highlighting the less interesting stocks but solid and dependable performers. Chloride features well. See attached link: I really am beginning to doubt whether Emerson are going to come back for Chloride in the near future. I just question whether Emerson have the will, ability or, more importantly, the access to funds to make this happen soon. With Emerson's fiscal year commencing at the start of September, I would have thought they would have wanted to cut a deal now so Emerson can recognise the full value of Chloride's revenue in the new fiscal year. To me, it makes absolute sense for Emerson to do this deal. Chloride have an unrivalled position in Europe (emerson is very weak in Europe) and Chloride's position in emerging markets such as India and Far East is very strong indeed. Moreover, Chloride posted great end-of-year results showing sustainable growth so I don't see Chloride as a casino bet. But with the Chloride Director's recently buying and selling shares, topping up their Trust Funds etc, it is clear that Emerson have made no approach as the Directors would not be allowed to make these transactions. At best, the activity of the Chloride Directors indicates they may think something is afoot so just topping up before an approach. As the dollar gets stronger, the deal looks more expensive to Emerson. A few months ago, when the exchange rate was 1.38 Emerson could have pulled off a stunning deal, offering a good price that probably would have been accepted, and probably saved themselves about $300Mn from their last offer in 2008. Today, we are looking at an exchange rate of 1.65......still better than 1.95 which was when Emerson last made the approach. What are your views out there? In July (normally a sleepy trading period), over about 3 or 4 days, the daily volumes were huge (about 3mn/4mn) with no apparent reason then all of a sudden it died down and we are now looking at an average of 400k/500K......'know Is this stock in play? Off to eat come cake..... | s_e
21/8/2009 17:06 | They should try again for a bid, still looking like a good acquisition at this price. | nellie1973
21/8/2009 13:34 | pallett......you must mean 140 ? ...... i think not, some stability at 150 for some time now, and i will wait for however long it takes for emerson to return to the negotiating table again.....imo before the year end......if chld was a good fit for emerson last year it must still be today....mark my words | mrminister
19/8/2009 20:53 | sub 240p..... is that a typo? | sleveen

19/8/2009 08:24 | I like these long term, but will sit and watch to see if a sub 140p opportunity presents itself. | wilkie_hk |
