We could certainly do with a bit of news. It would take such a small amount of buying to make a difference. I have thought of adding, but the spread is off putting.

I would hope that the name "Scarborough" would at least create a bit more interest when it takes effect. Obviously a known, reputable company to those of us in Yorkshire, and a bit of romance and intrigue for those who don't know the company.
I had a Canadian celebrity friend come over a few years ago, and the only place in the UK he actually wanted to visit was Scarborough. Pity he was expecting a fair, but it may just get a few people to click on the company name.

"Asia is the place for me. It is the growth area. When I come back from China, I feel refreshed"

I first visited China in 2002 to sign a shirt sponsorship for Sheffield United with Chinese sports retailer Desun.

Who is Kev Mccabe -

A native of Sheffield, Kevin McCabe set up in 1980 a property company called Scarborough Holdings and formed a £50m joint venture between United and Scarborough Holdings to invest in low-risk commercial property. United Scarborough (a £50m property joint-venture with McCabe's Scarborough property vehicle) sold two properties for a £1.6 million profit, of which £800,000 will swelled the current year profit and loss.

McCabe and his family still own the Scarborough group which has branched out into the Far East and China and which currently has a portfolio of property of over £500m in the UK alone. The group owns Forsyth plc, a serviced office subsidiary which runs the Blades Enterprise Centre and also a 20% stake in both Frasers Property (UK) Ltd and FairBriar Holdings Ltd.

He is the chairman of FairBriar plc, a listed residential development company in both London and the home counties and was chairman of Scamp Holdings Ltd. Scamp Holdings owns 72.3% of Teesland plc. He also sits on the board of certain subsidiary companies of Bank of Scotland.

On 27 June 2007, McCabe made £850 million by selling his entire 60 per cent stake of Scamp Holdings Ltd, a former subsidiary company of his Scarborough group to the Australian company, Valad. As part of the deal McCabe has invested Aus$100m in Valad and has been awarded a place on the boardroom. The remaining 40% of Scamp Holdings Ltd is still owned by Sheffield United plc.

According to the Yorkshire "Rich List", McCabe has amassed a fortune of about £100 million from his worldwide property empire. With the sale of Scamp, this estimate has since been proved to be incorrect.

That has been updated - I think the last deal Mccabe was looking for was $500mill with a Nigerian Billionaire - Jacob Esan.

Can see that in Jan 2013 about 90% of shares were with McCabe's Scarboro Investments and other investment fund managers ...so am hopeful that since McCabe took his stake he as been working on possible deals....

they may have something to announce with or before the results...

MAR was around the same levels - If Maccabe can do a MAR here then it will do investors well here - Housebuilders are currently in favour so no a bad time for investing in the sector -

MMs currently offering 0.92p -

Results should be in a 3/4 of weeks time - going on from last year -

Indeed - McCabe paid 1p so u can buy below his stake - MAR group actually went from 0.235p to well over 6p - Of course it is completely transformed but is also an example of a value-added transaction.

So he's had a decent amount of time to decide what to do with these. Next move shouldnt be too far off...
