dvi - I use tiered bets - stake split into small bets, with separate stops on each, at differing distances. So any move against me triggers a small reduction of stake, gradually exiting step by step if the move continues. So my downbet still exists but is smaller. If the price bounce continues steadily my remaining bet will softly close itself. If the share price jumps sharply my entire bet will close.

Good luck to those who view each new fall as an ever cheaper buying opportunity. I increased my downbet (earlier reference on (DOWN) thread). Share price rallied a wee bit ahead of the September 22 results but has since dropped back beneath the previous low and resumed its fall. Shares have lost half their value in the last 6 months, down over 70% on a year ago and by more than 20% from that pre-Results optimistic upkick 3 weeks ago.

If everyone takes the scrip then there is no point having a dividend at all. It is punitive to take the cash - this is essentially a cancellation of the dividend - and certainly not the progressive dividend policy they mentioned at the last payment.

I had a conference call and feel relaxed about the long term prospects. They took on board the market reaction to Naibu when it stopped its dividend. They will now pay 1p a share or 2p a share if you opt for dividend reinvestment.

Added again and good to see they ended up 15%. Market makers were hoping more would panic at the bottom. Results Monday

I added again today. A scandal around fraud in a Chinese company listed in Germany added further weakness yesterday. Results are on Monday but they have already confirmed they will be in line with expectations so "no surprises" should drag us back to the 100p level.

CTEK share price heading south, looks like CTEK is tarred under the same brush as NBU, and CAMK....could they deserve more credit?

It may scare some that they operate from the same Fujian province, and they have used Zedex as an advisor for the London floatation like NBU and CAMK, but then Zedex also got PMHL listed and it is perfectly run, respectable and profitable company. Some international business success stories are also found in Fujian (Xtep, Anda Sports...).They are great entrepreneurs, not all crooks.

DVI ... who is your data provider in respect of x2 trades >1m
shares?

Yes I spotted that only the purchases at 80.4p were showing and not the sale at 80p. Perhaps it will show over the next week. Anyway, it's done. I suppose the alternative explanation is that someone sold 250k and didn't move the price...

In passing, I assume you spotted the two trades of just over 1m shares the week before? This is when this new institution took its initial stake.

DVI ... thanks for replying. If II got rid of 250k shares then that presumably means 500k volume. According to my data provider minimal volume transacted over past few weeks/months. The numbers don't stack even if allowing for drip feed.

I have read all corporate dox pertaining to Camkids, Naibu and CTEK. The latter is unquestionably the best of the bunch from a business model and "mind the gap" valuation perspective. Poor corporate governance is an issue for all three but i was surprised to learn (through a third party) that CTEK representative, without notice, failed to show at Mello a while back - that's disappointing.

It wasn't a proper placing, just an institution wanted to get rid of 250k shares so I and the big buyer recently (no idea who they are) bid 80p and took the stock. It is encouraging that the share price hasn't moved lower but only when WINs are not offering stock at 92p will I feel that the bottom has been reached. This is going to be driven by fundamentals so results in September will be a further confirmation that we are sitting on an interesting and very undervalued company.

DVI ... other than the placings last Dec at £1.40 and £1.22 this March i can't see any evidence of the one you allude to,what do you base you post 107 on? I noted Chevalier's comments of 80p interday low but my data provider (sharescope) does not concur.

The placing was from a foreign institution who got the shares for professional fees. It was good to see the announcement today confirmed results would be inline.

If memory serves the past removals of seed investors took place at 140p and then 100p. I thought they had all been cleared out but looks like another swap at 80p? Each time after these events the price has moved down fairly swiftly to the swap price and then drifted further below. These Chinese shares are not at all popular and I doubt this will be properly valued unless it dual lists in Hong Kong.

I'm keeping tabs on this and CAMK and NBU. At the moment in the market "safe" dividend shares are mostly settling around 7% yield whereas the extra risks from these sort of shares is seeing them settling more around the 10% level. On that basis CTEK actually looks too highly valued compared to CAMK/NBU and I can see it going down to maybe 70p. It would already be there if not for little liquidity IMO.

A shame as this looks like an excellent business to me. In October the Chairman is speaking at a conference

Supporting the event will be Amazon and DHL who no doubt will be listening closely to how a company like CTEK is going about its business.

DVI...Was there a placing today then ?

It is ridiculous how all these seed investors just dump at ever decreasing prices ! I would not have confidence buying here until there is 100% guaranteed evidence that the last Chinese investor that gained shares pre float has left the company register. As each time there is a placing that knocks another 30% off the share price. I have never seen a placing done at a premium here and the share price was £2.28 when they did the first heavily discounted one..

Interesting times. A number of sellers getting cleared out with one institution mopping up well over a million and counting. I actually jumped on the back of a further placing today at just over 80p, which is around underlying cash and offering at 7.5% yield. It's just silly season due to low summer volumes but the recent update was encouraging with cash up to £44m so what's not to like? I'm really surprised they didn't rally to 120p+ Although Naibu didn't help on the day. Lots of smaller buyers paying 92.75p today but how much do Wins have left to sell?

Great results and added again. I love seeing the cash pile rise and it's not really a bad thing if a company can double its capacity without the need to borrow.

Yeah, about half the Chinese shares are micro cap and will disappear IMO. Of the larger ones there is the ongoing comedy of Naibu which is not helping, though I note Montoya are invested there - and here - and they have a good track record. I'm in this and Camkids and they both look solid but unloved.
Reading one of the CTEK presentations they have a small increase in capacity this year but then not much happening until they build this new factory which will take a couple of years IIRC. So we're left looking for a progressive dividend as promised and a few years of patience.
The chairman is speaking with some big names in attendance at conferences this year.

Very solid update. The issue here is the xenophobia surrounding Chinese companies, I think it is misplaced but it may take a while to dissipate.
