16/1/2008 20:19 | Good for you - very brave in this market. They are a good company but many good companies' SP's have suffered recently, and I'm surprised this went up today of all days. Hope it continues but I won't hold my bresth. | deadly
16/1/2008 08:44 | Bought in today with a small 2250 purchase as I can no longer hold back. Been watching since it was 60p and have seen it slip away from me ever since. I do believe this is a company with a very big future and in particular I like its market sector...o & G and defence.Regards to all. | marvelman
16/1/2008 07:37 | Very nice statement. Seems they are trying to get themselves more noticed, which for us shareholders is good. | veryniceperson
16/1/2008 07:23 | I don't think I've ever read such a confident trading statement from Chieftain... (I hold) As reported on 16 November 2007, Chieftain's marine and engineering businesses enjoyed strong trading conditions in 2007 and these continued to the year end. The year finished in line with those revised management expectations. As a result of these and other contracts won, Chieftain finished 2007 with its strongest ever order book at around £65 million. Bill Taylor, Chief Executive, said: 'I believe that the contracts we are winning are clear evidence of the success of the Board's strategy to develop the Group through its core areas of business. Chieftain is fighting fit and we continue to view 2008 with confidence.' | fez

28/12/2007 14:10 | jeff - well done. i'm hanging in for the long haul... the trades at 189 look like buys to me, any thoughts? regards | targatarga
27/12/2007 20:13 | ..probably bought near the same time as you tt...my first purchase 3/3/00 @ 45.75p....though managed to buy lower in March 04 at a bit over 37p | jeff h

26/12/2007 19:23 | ...can't be many stocks where the 2007 profit Forecast has been increased by 20% in the last few weeks...no benefit from the aircraft carrier work either. | jeff h
26/12/2007 15:52 | chart looking good ... happy new year everyone. | targatarga
22/12/2007 13:22 | New forecast & Buy Rec by Brewin & Dolphin 20/12/07;- Y/E 31/12/07 Pre Tax £2.0m EPS 15.95p Div 5.5p Y/E 31/12/08 Pre Tax £2.2m EPS 17.54p Div 6.0p Yes, david you'd expect 2007 results to be a little above the new forecast so 17p EPS for the current year seems very likely and then after the 2007 results a revised 2008 forecast. Looks as though the 60k trade yesterday was a Buy so someone seems confident. | jeff h
19/12/2007 11:22 | I suspect eps will come in around 17p if guidance has been given so late in the year and after such a bullish trading update. So last three years would be... 2005....5.46p eps 2006...11.90p eps 2007...16p ++ eps 2008... ?? (I expect over 20p with the order book still ballooning) Not to forget nearly 50p net cash too All that growth and cash for a fwd p/e of under ten Looking very good to me.. | davidosh
19/12/2007 08:57 | New Forecast out by Brewins... pre tax profit raised by £0.3m this year and next year (£2.0m & £2.2m) | jeff h
17/12/2007 15:46 | I hold 3 stocks 2 have put out very good trading statements and are both falling. Must be the climate. Never mind batten down the hatches. Think the results are out March. | veryniceperson |
