21/8/2007 10:34 | I see that their 'at it' again? Lowering the bid, looking for weak holders. Do we see an above NMS buy later today or is it 'balance books' time? pc | pc4900074200
15/8/2007 14:50 | Thanks pc, a very good explanation. Well they can have my shares if/when they reach £5.00!!! so they may have a long wait! | largeman
15/8/2007 13:03 | Largeman, easily explained? They never have any stock or only little to trade. It's a stock that most IMO, are held by employees and directors, who don't sell often. The NMS is only 500 so any larger buy puts them in a spin. They then hit the bid in the hope that they can cover their backs finding weak holders that sell. Your post was @ 10.51 am without any trades showing. Yet the 6k buy was timed @ 09.22 am. not marked as an 'L'. Thus to me, showing they have sold shares that they need to cover and they can not. It is a shame that the rules state that they only have to balance their books once a month. If it was a case of at the end of each day, they would not be able to act in this way and you would see the bid rise. pc | pc4900074200
15/8/2007 10:53 | What's going on today - Bid is down 5p at 10:00 with no trades at all. Something fishy going on or is this normal? | largeman

27/7/2007 18:05 | Thanks smartmmm Being part of the Chelford group you would think that an RNS would have been issued. Sadly the lack any news is a major drawback in this company. It is left for shareholders to ferret out news. Is it wonder the MM's play with the share price as they do. pc | pc4900074200

19/7/2007 07:43 | RNS Number:4701A Chelford Group PLC 19 July 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 19 July 2007 Chelford Group plc PERIOD-END TRADING STATEMENT Chelford Group plc ("Chelford" or "the Group"), the IT solutions group, today provides an update on its trading performance for the six months to 30 June 2007. Chelford is pleased to report that the overall operating profit for the first half of 2007 is significantly ahead of the same period in 2006 and also shows an improvement on the second half of 2006. The Chelford SAP Solutions division has moved firmly into profit with improving margins as the half year progressed. Chelford SAP Solutions continues to achieve good organic growth and the new business pipeline is substantially stronger than at the same time last year. Revenue for the Chelford Solutions division was little changed from the same period last year. Profitability in this division was held back during the half year by increased investment within the Microsoft solutions business and in additional sales capacity. However an increase of 43% in order intake for Chelford Solutions gives confidence for an improvement in performance during the second half. Chelford continues to generate cash; the net cash balance as at 30 June 2007 was #1.76 million. The Board anticipates a satisfactory outcome for the full year in line with the Board's expectations. 18/7/2007 08:25 | Press Release: SSI to sponsor first 'Fresh Produce' category at 2007 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards 09/07/2007 New award reflects importance of fresh produce sector now worth over £1 billion Ability to meet retailer's evolving requirements is "crucial" SSI, has announced that it will sponsor the inaugural 'fresh produce' category at the 2007 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards. The new award has been created to reflect the growing significance of the fresh produce sector within the UK food industry, and the increasing role technology plays in enabling food processors and distributors to meet the retailer's requirements. The market for fresh produce in the UK has grown rapidly in recent years, and the sector is now worth well over £1 billion. Much has changed in this sector. Organic food sales have more than doubled since 2000 and the grocery sector experienced growth of 7.5% in the first quarter of 2007 alone. There are more product variants and significantly more valued-added products available. The huge changes in this sector have led companies to implement new systems and business processes, including supply chain management and ERP systems, in order to deliver high quality products to stores. Award winners will be companies that demonstrate excellence in areas including productivity, process innovation, product development and company growth including emerging in new areas of the fresh produce market. "The fresh produce sector has completely revolutionised itself in the last ten years," commented Neville Merritt, Group Marketing Director, Chelford Group. "Shoppers no longer simply demand fresh fruit and vegetables on the shelves they now expect supermarkets to provide high quality, pre-prepared and packaged goods such as garnished potatoes or baby vegetable packs that are just as ready for use as any other food product. The fresh produce sector has responded to this demand, and evolved by adding multiple process and packing lines in what was previously a straight-forward warehousing and distribution facility. A company's ability to effectively manage and control this new aspect of their business has become crucial. "In addition to these market changes, the major retailers have also consolidated their suppliers, which means that many produce suppliers now have to source additional volumes from third parties in order to fulfil growing requirements," continued Neville Merritt. "This increases the importance of effective integration between the order management systems of the retail suppliers and third parties, to manage complex triangulation of business transactions. Margins are tight in this sector, so ever more sophisticated transaction monitoring and cost analysis is needed to closely monitor consignment costs. This new award category recognises companies that have mastered these processes, and are adopting innovative practices across the supply chain." About the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards Now in their 7th year, The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards honour the very best food and drink manufacturing companies' progress across a range of criteria: from category and supply chain management to new product development; from process innovation to health, safety and environmental management; and from marketing to human resource management. | tole
