CHAUCER HOLDINGS PLC

Chaucer Holdings PLC ("Chaucer"), the diversified Lloyd's insurance group,
announces a change to the date for the release of its interim management
statement (IMS) for the nine months ended 30 September 2010. This announcement
will now be made on 18 November 2010 and not 19 November as previously
indicated.

In addition, Chaucer will separately announce an update on corporate strategy on 18 November 2010.

Me too. Certainly beats the Nationwide !!! I sold my ASOS last year - don't think I'll ever have another one like that !!!

Happy either way Bluebelle. Still 8% yield (at least) and good prospects of more CGT on this one.

Are you still in ASOS btw? I guess I sold a bit early at 81p... :)

I'm far from convinced about the bid talk. Surely there would have been some volume and/or price action were there any truth in them but there's been none that I can see. Happy to be proved wrong, however !!!

Well - Beazley wants Hardy, which refuses to sell at 300p (ie 1.2 x nav). Might they try Chaucer if they can't get Hardy? And there wd be other suitors for Chaucer at the current lowly valuations, I reckon.

IMHO the problems at Equity and KGM were down to gross incompetence in both cases. They were dinosaur businesses, remote from the Lloyd's Market, and just hadn't evolved with the market over the last decade.

I don't believe Chaucer has similar issues.

how do you read the motor syndicates probs at lloyds these days? it is some encouragement to me that chaucer did not indicate any need to re-reserve for probs like those at equity red star, but who is to say they won't have to at year end?
