23/5/2012 15:07 | Hey folks, Please take a look at my latest writeup on (alternative) asset managers, including another look at Charlemagne, here: Cheers, Wexboy | wexboy
16/5/2012 14:13 | Charlemagne's now on an ex-cash 0.7% of AUM - see how that stacks up vs. other alternative asset managers, and in terms of absolute value: Cheers, Wexboy | wexboy
21/3/2012 09:42 | I've sold out of Charlemagne Capital. They have done very poorly over the last two years with massive cash outflows. This is not encouraging given they are in a quite good sector for asset management. The outlook is pretty poor at the moment until they attract more funds to manage. Can see this going below 10p. Will keep on my watch list for positive developments, but think there is more downside than upside at the current time. | topvest
03/2/2012 14:29 | No ! IMHO DYOR ! | bluebelle

29/10/2011 16:13 | I have not been in these for a while and decided to catch up. I am going to stay out at these prices. Was spooked by fall in AUM from $3.2b at 6.11 to $2.9b at 8.11 to $2.3b at 9.11. We do not know if this fall was due to price falls or clients pulling funds...no suggestion in the commentary of the July/August period in the interims that clients had been pulling funds out so we assume down to price falls.. Two very crude figures. I note the fall in AUM in third quarter 2011 was 28% compared to the fall of 24% in the FTSE Emerging market index. The second is that the last time the AUM was in the $2.3b area was mid 2009 when the share price was in single figures | cerrito
13/10/2011 10:30 | volatile to say the least. I'm an investor in one of their funds, but not their shares. I wonder what has caused this. 25% down today | eipgam
12/10/2011 14:27 | Strange spike in the price just now, with a flurry of larger trades (even hit n umber 2 in biggest risers for a brief moment). But settled back to normal. Wonder what caused that. | grahamburn
29/9/2011 14:39 | EMG results were bad. CCAP similar business? | nick rubens
22/8/2011 15:11 | Wexboy, I took your advice and did an article on CCAP on the blog. I agree that they're very undervalued here, I came up with a range of 6p (liquidation value) to 42p, with 20p very reasonable in the short term. I haven't bought in yet, still considering, but I like what I see. It doesn't seem like Charlemagne has the same downside risks as Argo, although Argo is at a nice discount to NCAV so it compensates a bit for those risks. | oddballstocks
08/8/2011 14:45 | ANyone looking to add at these levels? | nick rubens
04/7/2011 21:50 | 7% of the company traded today | envirovision
05/5/2011 05:12 | similar to my posting for ARGO (plse reference for valuation rationale below), thought i would post my estimated valuation for CCAP: $23.951 mio Cash + $2.023 mio Investments + $3,486 mio AUM * 3.75% = $ 156.699 mio / 1.6524 GBP/USD = GBP 94.831 mio / 280.386 mio shares = GBP 33.8p per share | wexboy
28/4/2011 14:59 | agree just took 20K | envirovision
11/3/2011 21:22 | Excellent yield available here with good long term prospects. Would like to see them secure more cash inflows of AUM though. | topvest
10/3/2011 15:18 | aum in feb down compared to dec, dyor | timanglin
10/3/2011 13:51 | Well despite the tumble weed blowing around here I added 50K today. | envirovision
10/3/2011 10:06 | Quiet here. So no one care to comment on the results or outlook then ? | envirovision
11/1/2011 21:12 | Very positive RNS today; always difficult to follow what the expected full year dividend is here with interim, finals on both ordinary and special dividends. Looks like we could be getting very good dividends this year. I would guess maybe something around 3c or 2p in total. What do others think? | topvest
04/1/2011 16:40 | Not so owenski, but by all means DYOR !!! | bluebelle
04/1/2011 16:23 | Still prefer CLIG and ASHM but then, shouldn't ignore the Sun : wonder what Danni from Coventry (32D-25-33) thinks about it !!! EDIT : Just checked your link and I actually hold one of the others : OXIG. Maybe there is something in this topless stock picking after all !!! | bluebelle
04/1/2011 16:03 | Got a tip in The Sun CHARLEMAGNE CAPITAL - 19p Emerging markets ... fund manager hopes to bounce back in 2011 CHARLEMAGNE has suffered a nightmare since floating on the stock market in 2006 at over 90p. The credit crunch battered the specialist fund manager but it's poised to spring back to life. Charlemagne specialises in emerging markets - from Qatar to Bulgaria and China. Assets under management are up 22 per cent since July, showing that punters are putting more cash in the hands of Charlemagne's fund managers. And Charlemagne pays a bumper dividend. The dividend yield - the return for investors - could be 10 per cent in 2011. This tops the best FTSE 100 firms. The Stock Market opens today. | paul1966
04/1/2011 11:45 | nice breakout today ? | first choice |
