why have the GLOBAL WARMING CLIMATE CLAN NOT SPOKEN IF ENERGY GETS ANY CHEAPER WHY TURN DOWN THE HEATING OR TURN IT OFF

DO THE REGULTORS AND GOV , NOT CARE ABOUT THE CLIMATE AND TELLING PEOPLE TO CUT DOWN ON ENERGY USE

SO WHY BOTHER IF THE REGULATORS DO NOT GIVE A TOSS

Essential. Yes its messed up that the government can act this way. Personally I give a little cheer every time I see news that centrica expands the business beyond the grip of UK politics.

Another positive for the trading update is the fact that the CEO's have bought in recently, if the report was going to be poor they wouldn't have bothered.

Most weather models seem to be forecasting cold and snow from next week to mid-December. Further out thoughts also seem to lean to the cold side. Now, these models are not always right but they are generating some interesting headlines.

You might be stating the obvious but read about Ockham's Razor and you've hit the nail on the head.

As much as people maybe taking money off the table over the past few days. You know investors will be itching to get back in so they don't miss the bus for any new leg up. There needs to be some major credit event I think to stop the relentless investing. Not sure what the event will be or when though :) - And I guess I am really just stating the bleeding obvious :)

Nortic. Yep this sector should be more interesting to funds for security. I notice that yesterday on the S&P500 Utilities were the best (or near only) gainers - hxxp://www.sectorspdr.com/sectorspdr/tools/sector-tracker

Noticed BT making a move today after weeks of decline. All the stalwarts have been so downtrodden that it makes you feel that if at least one of them starts making a move then maybe the others might follow . Wishful thinking maybe but let's see.

Kiwi, yep thinking about it a divi cut to 8p would be sensible and still good news, this level is still high for shareholders and shows to market that Centrica are cutting their cloth appropriately. But as Manuel from Fawlty Towers used to say...."hhhI hhhknow hhhnothing:)

Might be a good buying time as it nears Deutsche's 160p forecast? I suspect that worst case for the dividend going forward is a reduction to 8 or maybe 9p so, still a yield of 5% which should steady the ship?
