Very happy with the results. Now any doubt is out of the way regarding progress and cash generation, the share price does seem out of sync with the story. Perhaps the market will now recognise that?

A cash generating machine by the look of it with 'unprecedented scaling of Wholesale business'.

Results are out and look good at first glance.

In particular, the £2.95m adjusted PBT is well ahead of Peel Hunt's forecast £2.71m:

CNIC don't publish an adjusted EPS figure unfortunately.

They "remain confident in the outlook for 2016", and there's lots of positivity going forward.

The Instra acquisition in January should enable CNIC to make strong advances towards this year's forecast of 4.02p EPS.

Your post was correct speedsgh, apologies, although there are various posts that are total nonsense.

[...]Verisign settles .security XYZ lawsuit
Operator of the dot-com registry and two root servers, Verisign, has settled one of its two lawsuits against upstart .XYZ.
CEO of XYZ, David Negari announced the news in an update on his personal blog. The unusual wording of the update was clearly a part of the settlement, with Negari noting that his company’s actions had “prevented [Verisign] from the opportunity to pursue monetization of those relationships” and adding “we would caution others who find themselves in similar situations to be mindful of the existing contracts extension owners may have with third parties.”
The infrastructure giant sued XYZ in August claiming that when the latter firm bought the rights to three new internet extensions -.security, .theatre, and .protection – it interfered with business by insisting that as part of the deal they end their agreements to use Verisign to run the registries. XYZ instead introduced its preferred partner CentralNic.

Verisign settles one of its lawsuits against XYZ -

Lawsuit involved switching backend providers for three top level domain names.

Verisign and XYZ have reached a settlement in one of their ongoing lawsuits.

Verisign sued XYZ last year after XYZ acquired the rights to the .theatre, .security and .protection top level domains.

The original applicants for these domain names had signed backend registry service contracts with Verisign. When XYZ acquired them, it transferred the backend services to competitor CentralNic.

Verisign sued over tortious interference with a contract and business conspiracy.

XYZ CEO Daniel Negari posted a carefully-worded statement yesterday, no doubt approved as part of the settlement:

“I am pleased to report that the recent case filed by Verisign against CentralNic, Ltd., XYZ and myself has been settled. After looking at the claims in dispute, we regret that as a result of our acquisition of the .theatre, .security and .protection extensions and our arrangement for CentralNic to serve as the backend service provider for these extensions, that Verisign was prevented from the opportunity to pursue monetization of those relationships. As ICANN’s new gTLD program continues to evolve, we would caution others who find themselves in similar situations to be mindful of the existing contracts extension owners may have with third parties."

Verisign and XYZ are still involved in appeals court for a false advertising charge levied by Verisign.

The trading statement issued this am alongside the Notice of Results is almost identical to the one issued prior to Final Results in 2015 so nothing to write home about there imo...

I think its really silly for management to provide such a short trading statement nearly 5 months after the year end and results are out 6 months later. Unless of course, going forward their expectations have hit the ground as opposed to the moon. Results, well at least the outlook statement, will be interesting.

I won't be surprised if it was all talk and not enough substance.

edit: another point, the share price drifting down seems to have been the only reason why management released a TS as opposed to an announcement of results RNS.

Yes, as we are nearly half way through 2016, this should give us a better handle on current prospects. Based on eps expectations of 4p, that puts the prospective PER on less than 12 which looks good value in my eyes.

RNS out noting succinctly that trading is in line with market expectations.

Since expectations are for historic 2.97p EPS and current year 4.02p EPS that leaves CNIC looking pretty decent value at the current share price.
