Posting of Circular and Notice of General Meeting

On 12 September 2016, the Company announced its intention to issue a Circular to the Company's shareholders to seek approval for the disapplication of pre-emption rights.

A Circular setting out the background to and reason for the intended disapplication of pre-emption rights as well as the Proxy form to be used by both South African and United Kingdom shareholders will be posted to shareholders today.

Shareholders will find set out at the end of the Circular a notice convening the General Meeting to consider the proposals in relation to the disapplication of pre-emption rights and are hereby advised that the General Meeting of the Company is to be held on 18 October 2016 at the offices of Central Rand Gold, CRG Slot 8, 10 Spencer Road, Robertville, Roodepoort, South Africa at 11.00 a.m. (UK time). Shareholders in the United Kingdom wishing to participate in the AGM via conference call may do so at the offices of K&L Gates, One New Change, London, EC4M 9AF.

The Notice of the General Meeting as well as the Proxy form to be used by both South African and United Kingdom shareholders at the General Meeting can be accessed on the Company's website at www.centralrandgold.com.
