'We import more than we export' coupled with 'Good for exporters'

I'm a consumer on holiday in Greece bought a shed load of Euros last year and topped 1.00am on the 24th ...

Next year the same holiday will cost me £400 more ... And with pound floundering our EU imports are costing 1/2 a billion pounds more a day ...

Love the logic of Brexiters ... Let's make ourselves poorer for a pipe dream.

Further to my recent post #1901 re Cenkos acting on a possible placing for Providence Resources (PVR)...

Cenkos takes Providence stake -

London broker Cenkos Securities is taking a 6.1 per cent stake in Providence Resources, the Irish oil and gas explorer headed by Tony O’Reilly junior, in lieu of payment for €5.85 million in professional fees, the Sunday Times reported.

Cenkos, the company’s stockbroker, will be allocated almost 38 million shares as part of an overhaul of Providence’s finances announced last week, the newspaper said.

Proposed Placing Offer and Open Offer -

Under the terms of the Placing and Open Offer Agreement, the Company shall pay to Cenkos (subject to Admission taking place) a commission of US$6.5 million (the "Fee")). Under the Placing and Open Offer Agreement, the Company and Cenkos agree that the Fee liability shall be satisfied by the issue and allotment to Cenkos of 37,998,363 New Ordinary Shares in the capital of the Company (being the "Cenkos Fee Shares"). In addition, the Company will also pay Cenkos certain costs and expenses incurred in connection with the Placing Offer and the Open Offer and has given customary warranties, undertakings and indemnities to Cenkos, in each case in respect of the services provided by Cenkos in connection with the Placing Offer and the Open Offer.

Yes/no.

The hysteria is fully understandable. It is a shock result of monumental proportions which few were expecting.

After the grief/loss/frustration/surprise/shock/denial of the referendum result starts wearing off, the UK's newly regained freedom poses the most remarkable upside opportunity for the UK after years of being shackled in every way by Brussels.

But the financial markets are totally spooked and the likely volatility for a considerable time ahead will be enormous.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

I think that the hysteria over Brexit has been ridiculous. The FTSE closed up on the week last week, and a mere 2.5% down on the Friday itself. Considering how earth-shattering Brexit was supposed to be, it doesn't feel like it now. Yes, the £ has taken a kicking, but that will just stimulate exports.

The number of people in the media talking down this country is disturbing. Everyone now needs to accept the result, and work hard to make Brexit the success that it genuinely can be.

What are the prospects for further equity raisings by small corporates in such a negative and volatile market?

Problem is that this time market volatility will undoubtedly be LONG-LIVED.

Equity raisings generally require stable/positive market conditions.

Investor sentiment has been instantaneously shot to pieces post Brexit referendum result.

One can but wonder to oneself how this may or may not impact upon the fortunes of financial boutiques which may or may not swim in and feed off that sharks' pool.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

And what do you think of the German Trade ministers statement that the EU imposing tariffs on the UK would be self-defeating and hurt them more (given they sell us more than we sell them)?

And what about the IPO's of exporters - they'll inevitably receive as price boost in your collapsed pound world?

You think they'll be hammered forever then - even in your 'assumed' world?

Regardless of your in/out persuasion, I am assuming that an out vote will see most financial stocks getting hammered.
I am an underwater holder here so hoping for some decent sized IPO announcements in the not too distant future!

Possible placing on the cards for currently-suspended Providence Resources (PVR)?...

"Rumours continued to circulate about the fundraising by Providence Resources, the cash-strapped Irish oil junior run by Tony O’Reilly Junior, the son of the former Independent newspaper owner.

Sources said Cenkos, which is in charge of the placing, had secured orders for more than $70 million."
