Worth less than zero, when you consider how many s/holders will get fooled into parting with more cash for Action Groups etc.

But still a scandal that tax losses can't be taken, & it's left to linger on as a zombie co for years whilst it gets wound down for the benefit of banks/bondholders.

unfortunatley that's the risk you take with shares..I lost money & you just have to move on & get the money back somehow..If you go on the belief listen to no one & keep away from RIs your probably improving your chances of doing well. You won't get a dime out of this lot!!

Propane: see other thread.

Does it really cost £500k for a wind-up petition? Surely not. There's no way anyone's going to stump that up, esp not the bondholders.

23 December 2009

cattles plc

shareholder update

Cattles plc (the "Company") confirms that, following its General Meeting of shareholders held on 16 December 2009, it has conveyed to representatives of the Company's financial creditors the shareholder proposal as referred to in the announcement of 16 December 2009.

Financial creditors (representing a significant value of the Company's external debt) have expressed support for the views of the Directors of the Company, as described in the announcement dated 16 December 2009, that any such petition would likely be detrimental to value and as such would not be in the best interests of any of the Company's stakeholders.

Margaret Young, Executive Chairman, said: "We appreciate the disappointment felt by shareholders but there can be no case for winding up the Company when this would be highly detrimental to the interests of all of our stakeholders."

Obliged Smurfy; am sure most holders want to stay in to the bitter end but if someone's eg long on a CFD and paying interest on it, they should be keen to close and against a short is the only way.

Hey guys - remind me who owns RBS... Oh yes, we do - so not sure I do want them losing money on this! The bondholders? Ah, they're probably our pension funds! It's a beggars meddle, but I do think any individuals who deliberately deceived either the audotors or the market should face repercussions. I'd also like to think PWC would get their comeuppance if proven they were as negligent as the woeful inaccuracies of the audited numbers suggests. What happens if a claim is made against PWC's insurers? Insurance costs go up and we all end up paying those one way or another. Grr.

Throwing good money after bad, but agreed something needs to be done about not even being able to take the tax loss. Nothing worse than having a bust co sat on a/c blowing a raspberry at you for years - and as a Langbar holder, I should know..
