MG, there is no debt, Castings have net cash on the balance sheet,
now likely to be the best part of 20 million.

They also have a £5 pension surplus.

I have traded these twice, however they are perhaps better as a buy and
longer term hold - it's a really well run company imo.

All looking good eh.....?

:->

OTU sat quietly at the back of the class just minding my own business currently. You're all welcome here, and hey, "EI", 62 posts is now definately a record for a CGS BB lol lol lol...

Tick tock until the IMS, with recent pmdr activity and that upbeat notice all looks good.

I'll repeat myself ..... again.....all looks good.

Happy hunting, OTU

Agree, CR : a good, dour, no frills, Midlands metal bashers statement. Love it. Read between the lines and it's very positive.

Sent out in the Chairman's name with no poncey London PR agency as a contact for further information. Gives me confidence that no one is frittering away my money.

Onwards and upwards !!!

A nice statement this am.

I'd have thought with all the car sales that are booming away these are likely to have a good time over the coming year.

Nice divi here too.

Looks like Ruffer had another 200k today at 2.70.
They appear to have increased their holding twice over the last week.

On EPS 19.4 for this year, 23.80 for next.

Expect upgrades following the IMS, Castings should be more than
capable of doing 27 pence plus on EPS for 2012 imv.

Then you have a growing cash pile to factor in, would expect this to be
approx 20 Million at the full year, 30 million plus next year.

Compare CGS's rating to SFR, then you see the value imo.

This must be a record for the number of posts on a CGS thread,
hopefully a good sign!.

Bluebelle, agree with that, which is why I thought CGS was due a move shortly,
also noticed the recent Director Buy as posted above.

Recent price performance has been slightly disappointing after a very good run, but remains a core hold for me.

Forecasts are likely to be smashed here imv.

Being ultra cautious, Castings should do over 21 pence in EPS for 2011
and 27 plus for 2012.

Following the large CAPEX programme over the last 2-3 years,
cash balances should now rise rapidly to over 30 Million by 2012.
This is nothing new, as CGS had over 30 M in cash previously.

Net the cash from the 2012 PER and the multiple is approx 8x, or less.

£270k would be fantastic to see, CR - but this one was £26.5k !

Had a few on that director buy:

"It is hoped, provided there is no reported 'double dip' in the economy, that the full year results will show a recovery towards our previous levels."

If they do that they are blazing away and could be well ahead.

Interim Man Statement in 3 weeks time, interesting to see a director buying £270K worth now imo.

Nice not-inconsiderable director purchase there of 10,000 shares. Hopefully that halts the recent weakness.

We're off again, after that last brief spike which I believe was caused by a write-up in Moneyweek. Let's hope we stay up this time...

OTU - Thanks for starting this thread. CGS seems to be recovering well and my only reservation is that on my Sharescope chart they are showing well overbought. They were on my 'possibles' list a few years ago, don't know why I didn't actually get in at that time.
