I think half of that was my in laws for our kids.

I understand we're actually in the midst of a bit of a baby boom, bodes well for toy sales going forward.

Almost £3bn was spent on toys in the UK last year:

I have not heard about that before. I was born just 700 yards from the Warehousing and HQ so know this company a little. They seem to be doing ok in the current climate with or without assistance from LJ

Interesting. Dont think they need much advice though as they have run the business very well. They could do with a new hit toy though!

Luke Johnson is related to the Cassidy family so the boys should have access to sound business advice.

Agreed topvest. The reason for last years fall was extra costs for building work, rebranding to CASDON & packaging etc. With that behind them & online sales rocketing 60p looks right with more upside if the final divi's back.
Noticed on the website new retailers are selling Casdon. Boots had toys on their website too.

They have only issued half year and annual reports for years. I suppose the directors are indifferent as they hold long term for the dividends and their modest salary. Always difficult to value this one, but I suspect 60p (i.e. net asset value and an equivalent 5% yield) is reasonably prudent. Seems to swing from 30-70p depending on results. I sold a few at 65p a year or two back, but happy to hold until we get a reasonable valuation.

Great results and another davidosh gem I see. One comment though, the company seems very poor at releasing newsflow and trading updates. The last 3 RNS announcements being the statutory results. Does this explain why it appears so undervalued against peers? Is there no incentive for directors to push for a better rating and higher share price?

Great interim results out today. Always very difficult to predict Casdon's likely results, and today's were no exception but a pleasant surprise.

Interesting. This is the only stock that is nominee for me as it doesn't go into a personalised CREST account. Much better name for the group, so I welcome the move.

Name change to Casdon PLC. Instead of Cassidy Brothers and Casdon the new proposed name will be just Casdon PLC.
This should simplify and enhance the brand.
Shareholders to vote on it.

Yes looks like no debt 10p share cash and 2p divi.Maybe a harsh correction given the brand name and assets per share.Only small volume maybe 20 odd thousand shares.

Lower than expectations but balance sheet strong and dividend held. The new VAT should not impact this Chritmas but after that it kicks in.Probably better being cautious now looking forward and planning rather than paying a higher dividend.
